The original idea was based off of a simple puddle that lies near the center of Hemorrhage. This map can range from a 2v2 to even a 5v5 while still maintaining the unique gameplay it offers. The main room is circular with an opening in the top and a Rocket Launcher placed right in the middle. Along with that room there are numerous other ones with one that is ceilingless as well. A puddle is used in the middle room along with another room with a grass aspect as well. Gameplay is usually located around the middle area with the occassion of fighting in the spawn rooms. It is also common for players to go for the Shotgun located in different positions near both spawns. Although the Rocket Launcher is the main power weapon it is looked at as a death trap because of the high risk of grasping this weapon. Not much else is to say that gaining a height advantage may help you chances of a kill. __________________________________________ Great Thanks: Thank you for everyone who has helped me with this map. That includes tweaking it weapon placement and so on. I would like to thank Confused Flamingo and Nibs for the map support and help. Again thanks for everyone for helping with the numerous amounts of testing done all the way from Slayer, to Infection, and even Race (Which is very difficult I might add). Also, a big thanks to Inferi for providing me with the picture boarders. I could not have gained the courage to post this without that extra support. __________________________________________ Pictures: __________________________________________ Thank you for taking the time to look at the map. Any comments would be appreciated. I hope you enjoy this map as much as I do!
Yes, it is finaly posted! The only thing i can start with is how much i love this map. Since the day these walls were just being put up, to the final product, I have always liked this map. You put some great crativity into this map. I think that it is awesome that could incorperate a circular structure, wich is very hard to forge(with all the angles and such) I also like how you forged the trees and the puddle in the middle, into the map to give it a very clean, natural feel. Overall, great job on the map. Hope you get the attention you deserve. PS: I like the frames you have for your pictures, and nice thread.
Not hard. Just takes some TLC. It's really unfortunate that the path around looks so ugly. The wall pieces just don't look good as floors in my opinion. And then there's a random block piece in there too. Perhaps try and streamline your budget if at all possible and find another piece to use there. I'm also not a fan of trees going through solid steel platforms. Okay, so onto what I like (based soley on pictures): Is that an FX on there? If so, I like it. Way to pull that off. The lush feel to this map is great, and I especially love that you built the map around that puddle. Very original. There appears to be an excellent mix of CQC and mid-range areas promoting various situational weapons without handing one power weapon a massive advantage. I appreciate the manner in which you've presented the level as well. The green borders and leaf design are tasteful and really make the pictures pop. People often forget how important presentation is when showing a piece of art. The frame can make or break it. I do not believe we are friends on xbl, so I'll shoot you a request. I'd love to play this map.
You've never showed me this map, but anyways, this looks beautiful. The aesthetics are great and the mix between natural and structural enviornment looks forged together perfectly. I also really like that circular center area, with the puddle; it looks like a very natural and colorful map. One thing I'm not too particular of is that tree running through the middle of the bridge, IMO it just doesnt look all that great and seems like it would get annoying in gameplay. I will definetly have to get some games on this with you and Jackson. Nice map bro.
First of all, edited pictures are not allowed as map thumbnails, you'll actually get a warning for that if you don't change it. Anyway, the map looks good. I like how you've used grass as an aesthetic, where many would have used rocks or water. I don't really like the center room as the walls look ugly, at least in the screenshot. I also am not a big fan of the tree sticking out of the middle of the bridge. Anyway, Ill download this and check it out in a few days, maybe Ill post some more thoughts on it then.
I agree with this, you should move the bridge more to the right or left. And i loved the juicy FX you used.
iT LOOKS BEAUTIFULL ! Maybe remove 1 or 2 power weapon : Keep the Shotgun and rocket or , Shotgun and grenade launcher . And move your bridge more to the right ( Like raexe said ) .
I defintly agree with him also you could possibly curve that walkway with something else to make it better
Map looks beautiful, but you stole my favorite puddle. I kid, anyone can use it, I used to have a sweet map built around it though, so this brought back good memories from before it was deleted. The blending of grass to floor is done well with those railings, your map looks fantastic and really benefits from the Fx.
Thank you to everyone who has given feeback on the map good or bad. I really appreciate the opinions of so many other forgers to see where I am at with forgering. The picture does not say it but actually the tree is growing through a hole placed in the bridge. I think that leaving trees through objects is messy and unprofessional. The tree actually gives off a bit of cover as well and it does not cram the player while they are on it.
Way to make a long appearance Arctic Anyway I remember testing this map in its early days like I dunno... 4 months ago. And the thing that stood out most in this map was the gameplay. The gameplay was fresh than most maps. Plus it makes it featureworthy, it has a tree. Also, I remember two weird things on this map. 1. We played Race on it. Lolwut. 2. The mancannons look like an awesome Mario pipe that Mario would see if he were to go on shroomz.
This map is so bawse, bawse bawse bawse bawse! I love this map and I've played with you on this map a bit and i must say it is very good, look forward to you posting your map Decent
Arctic, you told me you posted this, and I had to check it out. I remember when you started this beaut, and man, you blew my expectations by far. And after all the grief it's caused you, you're finally getting some well-deserved attention. I hope it's well worth it, considering it ate three of your projects. Good job, buddy. You've earned every bit of it!
Overall I really like this map, very well made. The aesthetics are very nice and it looks very well made. Could maybe use a few more DMR's/Needle Rifles for AR start games but that's just me. The only thing I really don't like about the map is the circular area where your rockets spawn. There is no z fighting or lag but it just looks a little messy and stands out from an otherwise very clean map. Nice work overall though.
Thank you for all of your feedback. I really took the time to make this as best I could without getting extremely frustrated. Some of you may know that from tests and such, but in the end I hope this map is worth it. Many people have also said that the center of the map is very ugly and yes I get that. I had used up all of my pieces and that was the only thing left. I assure you that does not effect the gameplay and I always thought that gameplay came before aesthetics and beauty.
very good looking map from the pictures, what detracts from the map is that there is a giant tree on one of the bridges and the circular area ha overlapping panels which don't look so nice
The only thing I dont like about this map (From the images) is the central piece in the middle of the circle (and puddle). It just seems out of place to me. Maybe a flat rock or something instead would fit more? Also the trees on the bridge. I saw you said there is an opening for the trunk, but the leaves still phase through and it just looks sloppy to me. A good idea, but hard to do right I think. Other than that I have heard good things about that Arctic Hunter kid and his forging skills. So I think Ill download this and give it a shot sometime. Looks like fun.
The best part of this map is the naturalness. It blends in so well with the scenery that is static. I love how the aesthetics are attractive but neither distract nor deter from gameplay. Truly an amazing map arctic. Great work.
Quick question, who made your picture Borders they are sweet, Really fits in with the map. Also how does race work on this map? Havnt had a chance to try that yet.
Well Inferi made my pictures, and I have to say they look amazing. Inferio is a great person and fun to talk to. They are definetely a great part of this forgehub community. Also, the Race works like such, you start in the middle where the rockets are but there is a collesium wall placed above so you spawn there. Anyway, you drive through the red spawn, then through the glass hallway, after that make you way up near the blue spawn an dright near the Plasma Pistol. You then drive up a ramp to the bridge and trees in the blue spawn, make your way through the room right next to that and then back to the start. The whole game is crazy intense and with such tight corners and a hard path it can be fun for some and boring for others.
