Beacon Light Issue

    I'm working on a map for the Phaeton, and have encountered a strange bug with Beacon lights, which causes my entire X-box to crash and reboot when I generate lighting. The lights appear to have a lens flair when I re-enter forge, although I did not set one originally. The lights are not part of a group. When I delete the lights, the problem is fixed.

    If anyone has any solutions or possible workarounds, I'd be happy to hear them :)

    Edit: I have a total of 96 beacon lights on the map (all are the same as the above screenshot). Perhaps this is the problem, though the lightmap is still at 24%. I created another forge map to test the issue on a smaller scale, and found that while the Xbox does not crash, the same glitched lens flair appears if you generate lighting and/or exit and re-enter forge.

    Edit: It appears that the Xbox crash is caused by having 96 lights, regardless of type. It is annoying that the game does not warn that this is beyond the limit of the lighting engine. The beacon lights also appear to have a secondary lens flare that should be removed.

    That is a strange crash. Have you tried launching the map in a custom game to see if it will attempt to generate the light there?

    Yup. My Xbox crashes then as well :(

    Have you tried completely turning the Xbox off (by holding the power button for 5 secs) and the turning it back on. Maybe you have a bunch of apps running that you might be unaware of that is slowing your Xbox down.

    I just tried it, but having many apps open doesn't seem to be the issue. The Xbox only crashes when I add beacon lights and generate lighting.

    That is strange, maybe try it with light baking off on the light? If that does not work then I am not sure. How many beacon lights do you have? Just 12?

    I have a total of 96 beacon lights on the map. Perhaps that is the problem. The lightmap is only at 24% though. I created a new forge map to test whether the number of lights was the issue, and added 12 beacon lights to an enclosed ring. Although my Xbox didn't crash, the beacon lights still gained a weird lens flare when I exited and re-entered the forge map.

    Do you generate the lighting again when you re-enter the forge map?

    It remains glitched whether or not the lighting is regenerated

    What happens when you place a small lens flare on them and then generate the lighting?

    Yeah the beacon pieces unfortunately emit an orange lense flare at all times in my experience. There's no way to disable it too.

    Just tried it on the test map, and it looks like that additional unwanted flair is still there.

    That's really unfortunate, I can't use use them with such a huge effect.

    It also sucks that they appear to be crashing my Xbox if I duplicate enough of them :(

    Use the beacon object but use invisible lights instead.
