Yeah, the maps are pretty terrible, mainly because of conquest assault, imo. Strike at Karkand is fun if you are the US. Gulf of Oman, Sharqi Peninsula, and Wake Island all suffer from the same flaw, Air vehicles are too dominant. This is especially prevalent on Wake Island, which was my favorite map in BF1943.
Sharqi peninsula sucked in BF2. Gulf of Oman was rather popular, maybe because it was the demo map. Strike at Karkand was great because people just played it with infantry only.
Ah, here's the right thread.. Just got this game 3 days ago and it is one of the best fps game I've ever played. The multiplayer is MUCH better than any COD game, but COD wins with campaign. Anyways, never thought it would be this fun, the best part has to be that it's simple to use for anyone. Feels much more intuitive than cod. In conclusion, this game rocks my socks.
I would say the learning curve is much steeper and less forgiving to newcomers than most fps games, but it's good you're taking to it so well.
im disappointed that it's only managed to last 4 months before everyone resorting to the auto-frag-shotguns and the unbalanced ones. - FAMAS is actually an auto-handcannon - QBU-88 has nearly no recoil (sight may move but shot only moves slightly up), is semi-automatic, and still does around 60% damage to health per body shot funny that they're both B2K additions.
Most of the new weapons aren't anything special with the exception of the Famas. The patch coming in Feb will create a nice upheaval in the current trends, though. Until then, high ROF and low recoil is king.
[-_-] if i'm right at what i think you're getting at i dont see the fun in using OP weapons and attachments.
Really, the QBU is entirely unspectacular. I hated the L8 at first, but with a foregrip it becomes usable. If you try and use it at long range like the other assault rifles, you'll fail, but if you make an effort to limit yourself to mid-range, it actually feels pretty satisfying.
silencer, grip and holo make a good combo - you can change the silencer if you like - flick on burst fire and you're sorted for med-long range. semi-auto is pathetic though.
Unfortunately, that makes a good combo for everything right now. Not a fan of holographics in any shooter, though.
