Nice man, just lower the oppacity of the mirror a bit, and I just DLed gimp to give it a try but how do you get the little box out to tell you what layer you are using?
depending on your OS, it would be apple 2 or ctrl 2 for windows. If that doesn't work, make a new document and go to dialogs<layers or ctrl+l
arg today i just dled gimp and gave it a try also and thats how iz got background for my colonial marine sig but i did rest in ps. anyway i arez cant read urz text very well sur, but its still cool
it might of taken me 5 seconds to make this in PS, but it's harder in gimp as it doesn't have a clipping mask feature
Thank you AL I will make a GIMP signature soon because as long as I can see what layers I have I can make something sweet. +Rep for helping me out!
If you don't have a clipping mask, depending on what they call it, click the magic wand tool and hold down control and and click all the letters on the Text layer and then click on the picture layer and Inverse the selection. Delete, and it's almost like having a clipping mask, if you rasterize the text layer and merge with the picture layer.
You may want to make the mirror not hit the bottom of the canvas cuz it's supposed to be a freestanding sig but the cutting off of the mirror makes it feel like it's still in a rectangle.
