Author: AceOfSpades Map Name: Axolate Map Canvas: Sandbox Map Size: Large Player Count: 8-16 Supported Gametypes: Capture the Flag, Team Slayer __________________________________________________ Description: Axolate Axolate is a big team map constructed on the main level of Sandbox. It is a highly urban-based map. It plays Capture the Flag and Team Slayer and is best-suited for 4v4 to 8v8 games. In and around the red base are two Choppers, a Mongoose, a Sniper, Overshields, and a Trip Mine. In and around the blue base are two Warthogs, a Mongoose, a Sniper, Active Camo, and a Power Drain. Just outside red and blue territories are two Rocket Launchers, one on each side of the map. The neutral weapons are a Ghost, located in the Parking Garage, a Spartan Laser, located at the statue, and an Energy Sword, located in the building opposite the Parking Garage. Next to the Sword Building, there's a wonderful man cannon built by Noxiw that sends you to the central building. The map wouldn't be nearly as good without your contributions. Null for giving me a lot of good advice during testing. Nondual for running a good amount of the testing games on this map with some epic parties. Rorak Kuroda for coming up with the original name, no matter how crappy it was. ;P My testers for testing this, even though it wasn't much. _________________________________ Download Axolate
Hmmmmm, the forging looks clean, and I can only imagine the gameplay on team slayer. DL from me! EDIT: 1st!
Can I get a mention... for shooting you? Anyways this looks great, but what did you do since... the shooting? oh, and man cannon is awesome
Please stop doing Edit: 1st no one really cares on forgehub about that. On topic, this map is incredible, its forged to perfection. I am going to download and have a few games on it and i will edit this post.
This looks amazing as usual Ace. I'll be sure to check it out and get back to you next time I make it to one of Nonduals customs. Agreed. Anyone else that does this will receive a warning/infraction. This is not bungie.net.
Why yes, the man cannon is awesome (<3 Noxy) You should've been there yesterday afternoon. We had a pretty sizable party. We tried playing this but the budget glitch, combined with the lag we were experiencing, collapsed the party
Haha. To be completely honest, no one cares. Anywhere on the internet. No one. Love the map ace. You have forged so much stuff since Ive been gone. It looks like another good one for sure. Any more MLG maps coming soon?
I love the name Axolate! Anyway this map really inspires me to make a ground level map. I can see how this map would work well with pretty much all gametypes (I'll have to download first and play to be sure), anyway the forging is neat and tidy, I'll admit there isn't any real mind-blowing aesthetics but that doesn't matter really as long as the map isn't riddle with bumps.
Enjoyment: Axolate overall was a good experience. The vehicles and just some great moments from driving over the terrain made for some fun kills. Albeit a bit overpowered, they were fun to use. I especially loved using the sword because it took somewhat ninja skill to get around with it and to kill someone because much of the map is open. 8/10 Balance: Overall, the balance of the weapons I found to be quite good. The biggest balance issue was the vehicles, which overpowered the rest. I’m not too sure if they were meant to due to the drivable bases, but if it was the case, I couldn’t find a power weapon to actually take the vehicles out until the very end, and then it was only the Spartan Laser. The power weapons I did find seemed to be too close to other items of interest, for example the Sword and Active Camouflage was a 5 second run out and just up a building. 7.5/10 Durability: Axolate was built on the entirety of the ground level of Sandbox. It is impossible to break, and there aren’t any “cheap” spots that I found where you could hide. 10/10 Aesthetics: Axolate was cleanly forged and the aesthetics were not too shabby either. Not the greatest, but enough to take note of. The statue area was pretty neat, especially how benches were fit into the map and actually provided me cover (Really!). Some of the structures that included wood aspects looked especially nice to me, and that’s somewhat harder to do. 8.5/10 Originality: The center piece of the map was original, as was many of the buildings in the way the flowed with each other. It mixed open and close sightlines in the same buildings and I feel I hadn’t played a map quite like it in a while if ever. 8.5/10 Recap: Enjoyment: 8 Balance: 7 Durability: 10 Aesthetics: 8.5 Originality: 8.5 OVERALL: /10
