Rather than spamming the boards with 800 threads, I decided to just make one topic designated to any progress I make. Having individual threads is a bit more organized, but I don't want to ***** the board. To quote myself: Also to add to that, the Predators have a custom powerup that takes away shield but ups their health a tad. It increases their jump height, and lowers their run speed. I did this because I needed to give them a disadvantage, otherwise they'd be ridiculously overpowered. I've completed two maps: Leadworks and Reservoir. They both turned out pretty cool, but I about gave up on Leadworks since it was a resource hog. But I managed and was able to barely finish the map before resources were gone. Reservoir was a smaller map so I was able to put in some really cool aesthetics. Leadworks Leadworks takes place in... A Leadworks... The concept was built from Alien 3 where they're running around in the tunnels, where they eventually pour hot lead on the alien if any of you remember. It's a pretty fun map. It's not completely done, I just have to add some more aesthetics to kind of fill up the map so it's not so empty. Here's a walkthrough of Leadworks so you can get a feel of the structure. I would have done it in reach, but my capture card isn't cooperating, so this will have to do for now. It's the same map, and I did everything about 98% correct. The only difference is the tunnels don't really bend around. Reason being is I didn't have the resources. YouTube - Leadworks Walkthrough Reservoir I had a bit of fun with this one and kind of made it a bit different from the original. The original one is extremely dark and gloomy, and since Forge World is bright, and I didn't like the look Purple gave to my map, I made it a bit more open. Basically I tried to make it like a section of a ship. The water part being a water filtration system, and the other section kind of like a hangar/storage bay. The ship is obviously in the atmosphere of a planet, but I'm too lazy to write up a huge story as to why it's there. So "Because it is" will have to be good enough. In all honesty, before I remade it I had almost no respect for this map. Especially from a human perspective, it was too dark and gave both the Aliens and Predators a ridiculous advantage. But I really like how the Reach version turned out, and I really enjoy it. And here's the walkthrough video via AVP2: YouTube - Reservoir Walkthrough That's it for now. Unlike a lot of people, I'm 100% open to criticism and suggestions. It's because of comments that this project is as cool as it is right now (mostly with the gametype, I got a bit of help from you guys with that one). So feel free to comment on anything and I'll try to respond, even if I don't that doesn't mean I'm not listening, I'm just busy. I'll try and sort out my capture card issues, because there's a lot of cool detail that the images aren't capturing. As well as images have a hard time of showing the layout of these maps. That's why I'm at least uploading the AVP2 versions so I can give you a small idea.
Looks good. I am a fan of AvP. Haven't played any of the older games but the maps look really good. Question/Suggestion: Are you going to remake maps from the newest AvP game? I could see Refinery and Pyramid as good maps.
It crossed my mind, but I found that those maps are way too detailed for me to be able to create them properly. Got my capture card to work. YouTube - Halo Reach AVP Project preview The video shows all the maps I'm remaking. I tried out the other ones and I've decided that they really wouldn't be up to full potential given the limited resources. I could remake and release them anyways, but I'm too much of a perfectionist to do that (hence how long I've been working on this >_>). If there's anything you can see in the video that you'd like to make a suggestion on, be my guest and I'll respond and most likely add it in. Also, Outpost 4 and Compound are 100% ready for testing, as is the gametype. If anyone wants to help out, let me know and we'll set up a day. Maximum is 12 people, as that's how many the game permits (4 preds, 4 aliens, 4 humans).
