This is what a remake should look like in my humble opinion. The map was 70% complete the first time around and then the file became corrupted and I lost all progress. With a lot of disappointment I decided to give it a second go. Edit: I fixed the lifts so no more health damage and they are almost the exact trajectory angle as you travel past top mid. When I read that it took you 35 hours, I thought you were exaggerating. Then I watched your forge walkthrough and I believe it 100%. You went well beyond functionality, all the aesthetics look just like narrows as well. I'm really curious to know how well this map plays with Reach gameplay. What all weapons did you use? I think I remember there being a mauler in H3
This map is really close to the original. The look is amazing and it truly feels like Narrows. However, I noticed some of the proportions were off and this is the number one thing people mess up on when remaking a map. The biggest thing I noticed was the over shield spawns; the ramps leading down to them are way too steep. Overall this is a great remake despite it's few flaws
really cool map. most other remakes say they are good but theyre horrible. this was awesome. but you should put oversheilds on both sides and concusion rifle on blue side and grenade launcher on red oversheilds. just saying it woul be a lot more realistic. actually just put the same weapon on both sides to make it symmetric. im gonna go forge it into the game myself anyways so.. but really cool map i liked how you remade the treads on the bottom. nice aesthetic feature
now i WAS going to try my hand at narrows but as i can clearly see here i would never EVER be able to do it this well. props, im deff DLing this
Framerate is only an issue in forge mode, but once you hit up customs its perfect. Been true since Halo 3.
The frame rate is not an issue at all on this map really. Someone said that it gets a little frame rate drop down near the snipers, but that's the only area. The weapons are DMR's, Snipers, Rockets, and a Plasma Pistol that are all on the mlg new weapon timers. I prefer to keep this as close to MLG Settings as possible. This is just so beautiful. The video walk through just showed me that you did not half ass this map. I have no constructive criticism because the map is truly PERFECT! I have not seen too many remakes that can receive this title but yours definitely does. GREAT JOB BRO!!!!
This is superb, I downloaded other 'alleged' Narrows remakes only to be disappointed, but this has restored my faith in forging... Finally my favourite Halo 3 map is now in Reach... Many thanks.
The MLG starting spawns were further forward than that Looks good but some of the rampo steepness seems a bit out, & I didn't like rocket bridge, but it looks good otherwise.

Easiest decision I've made all morning - definite download. This is a beautiful-looking remake, can't wait to run around on it a little bit.
Yea, mainly rocket bridge and the Powerup areas are a little off...but the map certainly does feel like narrows. The area on flag side behind barrier (coming up from Powerup or out from Sniper) seems elongated, and there is too much area there. Lifts work very nice, I like how you can short lift directly to power up ramp (heading down) but in terms of exactness this shouldn't be possible I guess. After viewing the video, I can tell that this isn't just another Narrows remake with stuff. This is a Narrows remake that even has the same little nooks and corners and bumps and everything like the original map had. Really amazing; probably the best remake job that I've seen so far.
Changes have been made: The newest updates are all because of user feedback from xbox messages and forum comments. I want to say thank you to everyone who has downloaded my map. The most recent changes for Version 3: Top mid edges were smoothed out so that it looks nicer and you don't get stuck Bottom mid has the bridge leveled out including railing by the pockets Custom/Power up area has been raised up and the roof line adjusted also to not hit your head. Afro area columns lowered and pulled closer to the attics Center Stage has Colums have been moved outwards Slayer and Team Spawns have been fixed to keep teams spawning on their sides (hopefully) Lift perches have changed so that they are higher to walk into and lower in the front to ease jumping into (jumping into them on MLG settings make them unreliable) Flag Side has a lower roof added above flag and has the hiding spot on it as well
Great Remake I was pretty impressed by this. The scale is pretty much spot on, and it looks like a place I'd like to have some custom games. There were two things that came to mind though in the brief time I've spent on the map. 1) The nook where you get the overshield/invisibility cloak in Halo 3 are only accessable one way if you're an elite- they are too tall, and you bonk your head to the point of not being able to get through at all. 2) Only one of the lifts works for me, the other just about kills me. These aside, I was floored at how well done this map was. Kudos man.
so...this map is virtually amazing yes my opinion is very much biased as i helped forge it but neither fame nor i have been able to find a better looking narrows. also Fame and I are currently working on a map that we will be releasing within in a week or two. overall i feel like this map is the BEST narrows ever in halo reach.
One of my favs from halo 3, but I am sad the small ceiling overhangs on the mancannon sides didn't come back. those helped me survive so much, but I understand budget and all that, but without them the side of the bases feel really open.
I just downloaded, and either your link isn't updated with the changes, or you didn't do enough with them, the bridge is still bad, same with the OS/AC spawns.
