Well its here! The first look at my brand new asset map Uplift Relic. Uplift Relic is an asset map that introduces a new style of play. It is hold out and escort combined. The goal is to take the asset all the way around the circumference of sandtrap and to the destination while being attacked by covenant. The gametype has changed a tiny bit. The time has been lengthened to 9 minutes, the proximity distance is 50 meters, and the asset has normal gravity. The brutes originaly spawn out of the map and are killed by the mines. The problem is the asset must be on the upper deck of the elephant for the odst to be able to drive it. It takes about 3 minutes to reach the destination, but with the asset moving from level to level and you are being attackd by brutes is will take a little longer. The reason you need the elephant is because the destination is so high that you must jump on it to get there. THis gives the whole objective a purpose and prevents cheaters. So with out further do here is your first look! At first I wasn't fond of the idea of an Asset map on Sandtrap but I actually like how this is looking! Good job, I'm looking forward to it.
Also, please change the name. It's like Uplift Reserve + an overused map name. I suggest The Dunes, or Sandstone. Something along those lines.
The dunes good name but I want it to relate to odst because it is an asset map. Oh and testing will be today or tomorrow my gt is mr iPod touch
I'd like to get a testing game on this. GT= rifte gifle Right now, from the pics and description it doesn't look like you need to make a spin off of asset IMO.
I actually didn't change the game that much I just made the proximity distance farther and raised The assets gravity. Oh and send me a FR cuz I kinda suck at putting testing games together because my dog ate my mic.
Why would you need to raise the VIP's influence radius if you'll be in an elephant the whole time? Increasing the distance doesn't affect the radius height which always remains the same.
Rifte, the VIP can just turn around and jump into the grav lift and reach the destination really fast. You could however, raise the grav lift and the destination.
Or... not have a grav lift at all, keep normal asset traits, and raise the destination just high enough for Vergil to reach when he's on the elephant.
I vote for that, it keeps it clean and is easier, just make sure there isn't grav lifts as equipment. That'd be cool just drive up with vergil on the hood lawlz
We'll test both gametypes and see which works best. The reason I raised the gravity and added the lift is because with low gravity everytime the asset jumped the driver would be forced to get out. I know what I'm talking about because ice done many bug tests to make sure problems like this don't come up. The gravlift under the destination was the most recent thing changed when we test you'll see what I mean.
Suggestions 1)Keep it on Asset V2 2)If you're making a new gametype, don't name it Asset V3 because people will get the wrong idea. 3)Get rid of the grav lift; make it just high enough so that Vergil can jump up on the elephant with Asset V2 settings. 4)Don't have spike and plasma, I recommend spike for this one. 5)Maybe not so many weapons on the elephant, I saw a lot on it. That's all right now. The reason you don't need normal gravity for this is because if Asset jump everyone loses traits anyways.
