Sandbox Asset: Final Stop

    The interior of the train flickered light from the half broken overhead light. The carriage rocked back and forth, the continuous rumble of the train reverberating through the space...
    All of a sudden the train's emergency brakes come on, a high pitched metal-on-metal screech piercing the silence, then without reason the power ceases. One of the ODSTs tries to open the door, but without power the door wont open. A distant rumbling is heard, possibly footsteps? The sound of a blow torch initiates and white hot flame appears, burning through the door of the adjacent carriage.
    "Keep your heads up ODSTs, this is gonna get nasty" shouts one of the ODSTs.
    The blow torch stops and a metal scraping is heard. The door falls inwards and suddenly covenant burst in, ambushing the ODSTs...

    But the ODSTs were waiting and ready. They whipped out there guns and fired away, halting the covenants progress. All of sudden the power switched back on and the ODSTs rushed out of carriage onto the train platform. No time to waste, they scurried up the stairs into the main terminal. Tickets werent needed as they burst through the ticket collection area, constantly pursued by the oncoming forces. They rushed out of the subway station and headed towards the bridge... only to find it half destroyed. One of the ODSTs pulled out a radio called for immediate evac, but the nearest hornet was 2 minutes away...

    (To avoid having the honour rule of "covenant cant use the hornet", simply edit the settings: General settings/base player traits/movement and set vehicle use to 'none')

    Update 5/2/10:
    - Edited the lights so that now it seems like the power is actually coming on after 45 seconds
    - Moved a misplaced block (if you had play tested you could have actually had free roam around the crypt if you spawned in the invis brute area)

    ODST start and spawn area.

    Covenant spawn area. There is also an invis brute area.

    The covenant teleport into the end carriage.

    They will attempt to kill the asset.

    After 45 seconds (around 30 of battle) the "power" comes back on you can go and open the door behind your starting area.

    Your enter onto the platform and you must head up the ramp to left.

    You then head up the ramp...

    [​IMG]
    And arrive in the main terminal. You then head through the ticket collectors...

    And out the exit.

    Up the ramp to the bridge.

    At the bridge you must then hold out until air support arrives and you can be evacuated.

    Don't forget to unblock the checkpoint so your teammates can make it back to the bridge quickly.

    I hope you enjoy this map as much as I enjoyed making and testing it. Also a big thankyou to all the testers, this map would be filled with bugs and errors without you guys.

    looks small, but I think you should shet this up for asset convoy. Definetyl could work, games won't end in ties and all that jazz. you wouldn't need a hornet either just have a radio antenna or somethin drop to make like a bridge.

    Its not that small and it plays extremely well. It doesnt work with Convoy (we tried) and no I cant just make bridge drop because the VIP point is 6 Block, Larges away.

    what if you made it a mancannon instead of a hornet, then make it just spawn latter

    Nahh, We tested it and I think its fine with the hornet
    This is great map though guys
    It deffinetly deserves a download

    I think you should add cover on the final ramp, cuz it would seem like the covies would get ripped while going up it.

    When me, you and my friends tested this, it was alot of fun we we actually got enough people, lol. Anyway i still have the map and play often and I recommend this map to anyone who likes a good game.

    thanks AnthraXe. If I ever get around to doing so, I might edit the ramp leading to the bridge, because as T3RA PROWL3R said it did actually get kind of hard to reach the bridge. I have school starting again soon (year 10) so Im going to need to focus alot more on that, but if I have spare moments of free time expect to see an update.

    So I was skeptical about your "train station" idea at first, but you really have executed very small details about a train station extraordinarily well.

    Anyone that enjoys escort asset, this is a must have. :)

    This map is actually very good.
    Trains are a major up for me considereing I'm a train dude.
    Although I have to tell you that while I was the Asset, one of my mates was able to toss a grenade and throw me to the goto point.

    The idea just came to me one day and I had no idea if it would work. I started building anyway as I wanted to forge something but had no time.
    Anyway thanks for the support guys, I hope everyone who sees that can DL it and have a go.
