Artifact is a map based around a UNSC Misriah titanium mining facility. The facility is currently excavating new alien planets for their rich ores of titanium, when they find and unearth a Forerunner artifact, already activated.

The Artifact, labeled Excavation 002, has been hypothesized to be stuck in a loop. Excavation 002 has been attempting to mine out the same location for an unknown amount of time. It has been active long enough for a large series of rocky dunes to form...
