Artifact II The location of the artifact's training grounds is necessarily harsh; the upcoming fight would be a grim one. 2-6 players This small, detailed map is reminiscent of Guardian in many ways; It is best suited for small FFA's and team doubles. A great deal of time was spent making sure this map played well and had a tight weapon balance. Flow, attractive architecture, and advanced gameplay are hallmarks of my second serious Forge attempt. 5 x BR 2 x Carbine 2 x SMG 1 x Mauler 1 x AR 1 x Spartan Laser 1 x Sniper Rifle 1 x Needler 1 x Brute Shot 1 x Energy Sword 1 x Shotgun This map supports FFA and Team Slayer gametypes for now; an update for oddball may come in the future if this map becomes popular, however as it stands I'm completely happy with this as a small Slayer level, and I will be playing it with my friends for months to come. Also a small disclaimer, I'm aware of how the floors look in some areas, but I've decided to go for smooth gameplay over aesthetics in these spots.. Forge is an imperfect engine! But I still LOVE this map, and needed to share it with the community. Enjoy!! Artifact II
The map looks ok. I dont really see how this is related to guardian. On the first screenshot the left side looks extremley messy, although i will admit that the layout of the map is quite good. All and all it looks kinda messy which is doesnt really want me to download this, although a neater version would make me download it, 3/5.
It's true that the left side looks a little messier, but once you get down in it, it's actually the more attractive of the two sides.. it's got more detail and objects. Making it neater isn't always an option when you get 20+ hours into an interlocked map But I appreciate the feedback. Despite your impression of the looks, give it a try! You'll see the Guardian similarities for sure then, from the sniper tower, to the shotgun basement, to the lit-up lift.
to be honest i thought the same to silvershadow at first. i thought because he new here he's probaly never heard of interlocking and doesn't know how to make a map. but, i guess you showed me wrong. looks very nice and i can see that you spent a lot of time and put a lot of effort into it. 4/5
No offence, but aestheticly its very cluttered and messy. But I suppose gameplay is what counts and I cant really tell what that would be like from screens alone. I might DL and check it out later. I guess Artifact really is a common name, wish Id thought of something more origional to call my map.
Oh, I like the look of your Artifact map, haha.. my last map that I released on here was on Foundry, and that was Artifact 1.. I was thinking that it would probably be a common name but I was still gonna stick with it cause they had the same theme. I learned a LOT making this map, I like the detail afforded by a lot of objects on the first side I started (left side) but I realize now that it comes at a cost of object count and presentation (at least in pics).
This map is very detailed. and i dare anyone to try the map that says its " Messy ". i say the flooring is pretty much perfect, good map! Artifact 1 was a pretty amazing level too. this level would be a great map for and tested on for: 8 person FFA 2v2 4v4 Great map, and stoked for your next one.
