I would really like to get some more games on this map. Don't get me wrong here I like the design and I believe the actual map is scaled up a bit from the drawing. Now understanding the map, I'm much more interested in gameplay on this map. Before I was pretty confused.

I believe that's true about the scale - all the platforms and the ship are fatter than I sketched them, and the bridges are narrower and more exposed than they looked in the sketch, too. But we'll definitely be playing it again, maybe with some revamps to the bottom level... we'll see what I can make happen this weekend!

Wow. Heres some more from me.

This map was pretty big in scale and had a lot of architectural flourishes. The base design seemed aolid and plenty of routes made for different choices running a flag. I dont know why you were so worried about debuting your map, apart from the obvious spawning thing it went fine.

    BLEACHED
There isn't much left to say about thi map really. Its fast, fun and solid in design. There are no rough edges anywhere and base to base movement is diverse. The battle for the incin. Cannon is still fun but the only thing that rankles on me is that once or twice for every game of ctf someone camps the flag with incin or sword and ****s me up. But then again that is one fairly crucial element of each base, its a gameplay option.

    FREIGHTER
This is a really nice aesthetic piece of forging. Inserting via the banshees felt great, and it was exciting receiving fire as we approached was exciting too. The mantis fitted the map well and got taken down only with concentrated fire. The map is as close as you can get to actually boarding a ship in Halo.
In incredible idea executed perfectly. The blocks and containers you used fit well with the cargo ship theme, as did the whole bridge building where the flag was. Pulling the flag was hard work and getring it down the ship was even harder but not impossible. I believe that to be the right balance. I dont think FFA slayer suits this map truly, i would like to play team slayer on here. Overall amazing for a first test my man.

One thing i noticed was that as with my map radiant, you had set the attackers flag in the ground. I did the same but it shows the flag as being 6 meters underground, which looks really wierd in-game. I advise putting that flag into a cavity in the wall where you want it to spawn, its much easier to see and understand.

No I did not as the last map finished uploading last night and I had school work to get done. I will however get around to it today and get it uploaded. I also announced in the thread a few hours before starting that I was recording all maps but you may have missed that. I don't plan on doing this every time b/c it is a great deal of work.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Also special thanks to Fenix Hulk for taking the time to upload all those game play vids. I will definitely study up on mine and use them in my preview threads.

TMR - since you haven't played with us and as far as I know aren't on our friends lists, please send a message to myself or xAudienceofone at or before 7:00 on Tuesday, so we know you're online. We may or may not come looking for you, but it tends to work best if you send up a signal flare. :)

    Reserved slot discussion

I've been thinking about this and CyborgAnthro just brought it up as well, so I'm opening up a thread where we can talk about it.

Some guys play with us week in and out. Actually a lot of guys do that, but some have been doing it long enough that having them sign up seems like a mere formality. However, each week I ask them to sign up anyway, out of fairness for newer participants; the only people who get a spot auto-reserved are me and my current co-host (used to be GrenadeGorilla, now xAudienceofone).

How would you feel about a system along these lines:
    1. Regular attendees can request a "permanent" reservation. They don't have to sign up every time; I will do it for them.

    2. These slots will not be front-loaded, but spread evenly and in a random order throughout the lobby. One week I might do slots 2, 4, 6 and 8, the next week 1, 3, 5 and 7, or something like that, depending how many we have.

    3. If you have a spot reserved and can't make it one week, you let me know, or just say so in the sign-up thread that week.

    4. I'll send a PM reminder to these folks when the thread is posted, just so they remember to show up (or tell me they can't make it).

    5. You'll need to attend a certain # of weeks in a row to be eligible - not anything crazy, maybe 4-5 weeks I'm thinking?

    6. If you miss a certain number in a row (2-3) your perma-slot is removed until you re-qualify. Not as any kind of punitive thing, I just don't want people crowding out interested newbies and then not actually attending. If you lose your perma-slot, you're still welcome to sign up the regular way.

    What do you guys think?

I don't really have any issue with this, especially not an issue with trying it out. If it goes well then okay, it can stay. If it ends up an issue, then it can be revoked.

I think this is a good idea. I would say that first time players get the first slot and then the 4 weeks in between becoming a permaslot get later slots. and rotate the permaslots each week

However i am still in favor of having each player only have one slot and then repeat.
I don't think switching party leader would that hard. And i find it annoying playing on the same map for 15-25 minutes, as some people test the same map twice. Also i think all gametype's should have a maximun of 12 minutes because 15 minute games on first test maps are brutal. This would also ensure everybody gets at least one test with people realatively refreshed. I find that after 2 hours of playing sometimes my halo skills is somewhat diminished.

They would definitely be rotated week to week, including mine and Audience's. I'm not in favor of back-ending them all though; we tend to lose a player or two near the end of the night, so anybody that is always toward the end kind of gets whoever is left to test with. And I don't want long-timers feeling like they got the short end of the stick. I think I'd probably do it as described above - just mix these slots in between the open ones, so that it's fair for both the permanent guys and the newer ones.

Agreed on the game length, and I'm going to add that to our FAQ/rules. And I'll reiterate here for emphasis: from now on, let's try to make sure all gametypes are capped at a 12 minute limit. The lobbies are getting longer and more bloated as more of us have two things to test every week, and I want to be sure that first we keep the overall time under 3 hours, and second that the people with later slots aren't screwed too badly by people having to leave.

To the same end, I'm going to try harder to get things going in a more timely fashion. A few of our recent lobbies haven't really started until 7:15, which is mostly on me. We all need to try to get on by 7 if we're signed up, but mainly I need to do a better job of getting us going. That 15 minutes can make a difference when it's 9:50 and we are just passing leader to the last guy.

Regarding the alternating slots, I would like to keep it the way it is. I understand your argument, but I just feel it works more smoothly without passing leader every game. Besides, I actually like when we play a map twice in a row; I get a chance to learn about it, and then apply that knowledge. If it was up to me every single person would test a single map twice, every week. That may be just me though! But since it's my show, that's how I'm gonna run it. :)

That's getting to be about the norm... maybe eventually we'll have parallel TCOJs running every week.
