Hey everyone - I recently took part in a creative challenge called "February Album Writing Month". The idea is that an artist makes 14 or more pieces of music within only the month of February. I found that, even with someone as unproductive as myself, made it through 14 tracks, and ended up with a lot more in scraps and sketches. However, what was even more interesting was that a few other people made upwards of 65+ tracks - while these were simple guitar recording with sung lyrics, it's still a lot better than most professionals do, and it resulted in a lot of awesome "album-worthy content". While forging is a lot harder than making a melody and slapping a 4/4 beat on it and calling it a day, this idea could have some interesting results with forging, and could motivate even the laziest, or the biggest perfectionists, to make a lot of content that they'd be happy with - I realized that turning my brain off and just creating led to a lot of great work, and that could be applied to forging really well too. So what if a challenge existed to motivate forgers? Let's say, for the month of April, a goal of 10 projects started. This method of motivation pushed an unmotivated hack like me, so perhaps this same idea would work with everything else. Do you think this will work? Vote in the poll and, if enough people favor it, ForgeHub may even officially support it. EDIT: A 'project' means anything. A prefab, an aesthetic, a blockout, a map, a gamemode, a whatever. By the way, this is not a contest. No prizing will be handed out because that defeats the purpose. This is a challenge. Also, if you have any thoughts on how I should change this idea, let me know. Since I'm like at least 10x slower because of brain stuff, I could take on one project. Which would increase my completed count to ONE! Unless you count small prefabs or old tutorials... then it's like a few. But maybe it's time to make the Paper or Plastic (PorP) gamemode. It'll be obnoxious.
