Actually you will find that i made those "Candy Canes" earlier, in Epicenter and in a map i built before this, which i never released. Thanks for the very well formulated reply. It's great that more and more people are taking the time to post accurate reviews. I am very happy that you like the map. For a map where gameplay was meant to be its strong point, i am glad that you are liking the style that i created. Everything i placed was from a gameplay perspective, but i tried to keep it neat and sustain a 'square'ish feel to everything. The style lies somewhere inbetween The Pit and Last Resort. I am making a video that will hopefully show the map much better than the screenshots. Should be up in a day or two.
Matty's last map? Nooooooooo!!!!!!!! *dramatic music* Okay, now on to seriousness. I personally cannot access my Xbox at the moment, so this is based entirely off of the screenshots. As always, this is a map made by Matty, which means it would automatically be a win. Although, it most likely plays well and has some great aesthetics, I personally believe that this is not your best work Matty. It's unfortunate, but true. it just doesn't have the right feel to it...All of your maps have something that truly sets them apart from anyone else's map. This however, is missing that epic object... All in all, not my pick for your best map (that would be Reflex for me.) But it still deserves some win-sauce.
I see your point, and in a way, this map is very, very different from Reflex. Suffice to say that some people may still prefer that map to this. My goal in making this was different, and from what i heard, i achieved it. Intense gameplay is something you cannot show in screenshots. I'd like to hear your opinion after you have played it, but either way thanks for the honest opinion. Any opinion can be valid if supported.
looks like an AWESOME MAP but my concern is to many power weapons BUt other than that 4/5 nice map!!!
Ya know, you could have told me you posted this. I loved testing and everything on it was new and origonal. From the FFA rockets to the 1 flag we played: it was all very enjoyable. I specially loved the placement of the ghosts. Why didn't I think of that?
Holyshi... I need to be in Competitive maps more often. I remember play testing on it. Its was just simply stunning on how intense the game got. Territories was just awesome on it. I like how you made the map symmetrical. This makes it more interesting in objective games because it encourages teamwork, which is a great accomplishment. I also like the balance in it. lazer is open on top, sniper is in the back of each base and a whole lot of Brs. Most of the axction is mid range, that makes this a perfect Br map.As for looks, the maps reminds me of a Forerunner complex. With its tall structures and all. Overall, 1 word: awesomesauce.

Matty, congratz on the feature. It was fun noscoping you, and then you came and raped me with any weapon of your choice... Now for my real review: Game Play Well, what can I say? Gameplay is amazing. Truly amazing. I'm glad that you didn't put to many power weapons on here, but we're still not stuck to only br's. Testing with you was always fun, and I never found anything to be overpowering. Nice map to end on. Aesthetics Once again, awesome. The candy cane, worm, whatever you want to call it things were made perfectly. You're interlocking was smooth, and close to every thing was centered. I only found that the gravity hammer was off center, and that's not a lot... Map Layout You did placed everything perfectly. You didn't add to much cover to one place, and yet you are never out in the open. Great job. Well Matty, it's sad that you are not making anymore maps (at least that's what you say), but this was a nice map to end on. Definite 5/5 and congratulations on the feature. And also, will any amount of begging get you to make another map, possibly on one of the mythic maps? xpistolxwhipper
I <3 it... Quite epic. Its a shame that it may be your last map, since you have epic forging skillz... One of the best, (Possibly the best) maps that I've seen on this site. I love the sniper towers, and the layout... Although I have been unable to download maps recently, and have limited space on my hard drive, this will be one I definitely will keep, forever.
Well matty this may b your last map but its definetly the best. I've played it so many times and its so fun. At firts i was a little ifffy on the snipers but they play fine. The only flaw i have found is th ghosts. with a gravity lift ( the equipment) you put it under the ghost and it is usable. But besides that its perfect.
You're the perfect forger to take on such a high-level, advanced project while keeping it perfectly symmetrical. So many advanced techniques, and all of them done at least twice. I'm a big fan of mose of your recommended gametypes (N Bomb, 1 Flag, Team Snipers), so I'll definitely give this a shot in my next custom.
Lol, knew this would get featured, it is so awesome. I like the large pillars and the big curved thing. The interlocking is a bit sloppy in places but the map is still good not to mention the gameplay. Lol, awesome.
Wow. This map is superb. The aesthetics are amazingly done; I envy your geomerging skills infinitely. The gameplay is also great, played a couple of simple slayer games on this with a few guys and we all loved it. Great stuff. It's a shame it's your last map though =( Edit: WHOOPS! Sorry for the necro-bump! Just realised it! Sorry. Though I did only just download this a few days ago.
