Original Image in the spoiler, not the stock. Spoiler EDIT: Okay, i messed around with my newfound ability to insert my beautiful C4D's and i got something that i like a little better. It took a lot of redoing and undoing to get it right though, and i ended up starting all over. But i am beginning to become more familiar so it doesnt take a week anymore! I personally like this text about 10000 times more. Anyway, CnC this new version instead.
Overlaying and such is usually done with the layer styles, those are fairly important, so it's good to experiment a bunch with them. (random image grabbed off the internet) Notice where it says Normal and an Opacity bar next to it, top right? Click on the normal and you can mess with Overlay, Soft Light, and the like, and the opacity will change how transparent the layer is.
Hahaha, I know how to use Layers Insane! I have this picture layered about five times, but what i cant figure out is how to import multiple stocks (like a C4D) to get more of the interesting effects. But thanks for that wonderful description Proof: If you look closely, you can see that there is a very vague bumpmap of her eye overlayed, and the way i got the hair to fade into white was about three different layers and good use of the eraser/opacity tools.
Oh. Right under there, I believe it's the little page icon. That will make a new layer, and then you can bring in whatever you'd like, by dragging and dropping (at least on my Mac). C4D's, images, gradient for an overlay, whatever. Edit: now confused....you know how to do the layers, but you can't get images/C4Ds in the layers?
Okay, so i can drag in an overlay from one image to another? Thats pretty cool, ill go see what that looks like and probably experiment some more with this pic, i like the girls face 0.o What i meant was i couldnt figure out how to get two stock photos into one image.
Alternatively, select all, copy the image, and then paste into the layer. I'm not sure if drag n' drop works, I think it does on mac, but I haven't tried it on a Windows.
*facepalm I got it; Edit > Select All Ctrl C (copy) Ctrl V (paste) lol fail. Well, im gonna try making another version of this then. Now that its all sorted out can someone comment on the picture?
My only real complaints are in the top left, didn't really like the smudge there that makes her hair/face seem unnatural. The other one would be with the words, I like the idea but to me the cross-words seem too "there". Maybe some kind of faded out, italic look on those side ones (not the one going vertically) so that it seems less like a crossword puzzle.

So, I hear someone has GIMP questions and insane is a foo? V2 is much better, but on the overlay layers, don't shift or displace it off of the focal, it looks bad and or confusing.
