This is halo. Plasma weapons have always, and will always, be a major staple of the game. When you take out a staple (if you wanna call it more competitive, fine) you get a much more stale gameplay. I apply all weapon types to my maps liberally. I make maps for everyone. You want a weapon, most likely you can have it. It's not always about the DMR/Sniper crowd.
Your idea of gameplay is stale and boring to me. You can still play how you want on any map, but you take away what makes the game fun for players like myself. I think Titan said it best. You don't give players the option to choose for themselves. And all this talk about it making things not competitive is horseshit. If you're playing against another team to win, you're competing. If competitive is defined as "knowing what your enemy has at all times and only using one thing constantly and never having to split second think a situation because they have a different weapon", then yes, your idea of gameplay is VERY competitive.
i agree with silence. its better to put all weapons down on the map. if the players dont want to use them, they dont have to. but some players love picking up other weapons and having a good time (me for one) spiker kills feel great also, if im in a DMR fight and suddenly run out of ammo, and have no other ammo i am very grateful for that random spiker i just found. im not really interested in the "whats competitive and whats not" argument i just think having more weapons on a map = more fun
"Plasma weapons aren't cool kay?" Notice the misspelling at the end. You should recognize that as a joke. Besides I love plasma weapons, was just trollin you. I think we can leave the stale weapon load outs to MLG maps. But, it's important to know why people claim that certain weapons are more competitive than others. In competition, players want to kill each other as effectively as possible. Mid-Range precision weapons are most effective in a wider range of scenarios. That's not to say that each weapon has it's merits, but certain weapons are better than others across a wider range of combat situations.
