basically, I need an octogon, made of 8 corridors which are also octogonal (it's not hard so far), but I have to tilt it (probably by 45°) and it's a nightmare to figure out how to do it. that's something I originally did on far cry 2, but that was much easier, since once I had the whole shape done, I could just select it whole and rotate it. well, that's even more fun than that, since after that, I need to replicate that figure twice and rotate it by 120°/240° on the x/y plane. maybe it would be a good idea to show what it should look like : Revolutions in space, Mapmaker map for Far Cry 2 - YouTube
Drawing might be nice. The internal angles of a regular octogon (for example, the internal angles of a rectangle are 90[sup]o[/sup]) are [sup]360[/sup]/[sub]8[/sub], 45[sup]o[/sup] or [sup]π[/sup]/[sub]4[/sub][sup]c[/sup]. That's really all you should need to know.
I know, the angles are 45° in the plan which contains the octogon. but I have to work with the initial xy/yz/zy plans which aren't orientated the same way.
