    AMPHITHEATRE

This is my entry to the "Wonders of the World" contest. It's modeling the ancient Roman Colosseum, as u might know...
I had allready written like an entire page about the map, but due to the thread failing to post, it has all been erased. So Im just going to be a lazy son of a gun and give you the pics.

Well, here are the pics... Hope u enjoy.

the map looks good and i like the bridge with the sand bags. the only thing i would recommend is to maybe put some columns or railings in between the doors so you are not left with the gap. Also i hope you do well in the contest.

Well, this certainly appears to be somewhat pretty and school-grade neat (according to the pictures). But I didn't know that Wonder of The World "inspired" maps are accepted as well. I would have much preferred to see the actual Colosseum. :/

I mean, yeah, it's nice, but there doesn't seem to be that much down. What you've got here is basically a cute little arboretum with colosseum-inspired walls. I wish you luck in the contest, but I would of enjoyed looking at this map much more if you had expanded your idea a little bit.

If I have to give you something, it would probably be the smoothness with which your textures blend together. You chose a nice pallete for what you set out to accomplish.

    Good luck, nevertheless.

Very smooth aesthetics, but I don't love the lack of seating. I'm sure you have more budget. Also and amphitheater is half a circle so the name doesn't fit. It should be more like Arena.

Well, its suppossed to represent the building, but certian pieces i need to make it a story larger are without a doubt, pretty much used up.
To prevent further confusion... I will get rid of the "inspired" part of the description...

    Edited by merge:

definition of amphitheatre: an oval or round building with tiers of seats around a central open area, as those used in ancient Rome for gladiatorial contests.

lol... But yea. Id add seats if I could get into a little more depth with the structuring. (hopefully halo 4 will allow me to do that...)
The reason I couldnt do that is because its not big enough, and more conservative to have all of the objects at 15' angles. I tried 5' angles, but right when I attemped that, I saw the essential objects needed would be used up befor im evn halfway done.
    Glad u liked it :)

I like this it looks very similar to me and it must have took a while doing the co-ordinates on those doors. It's nice and tidy and it looks like the Colloseum so thumbs up, lol. It would be better if you had Bruce Lee owning Chuck Norris in 1v1 sniper but due to the limited forge pallete I can forgive you for not putting that in, nice job.

Hey robo, this is pretty cool, seems like you expanded off your ideas using doors in forge. This looks really clean and natural, it's going to be tough picking out the good maps for wonders of the world!

Thanks! I was taking a risky step in changing my forge style for the map. But it turned out pretty well I guess.

Hope u get back on xbox soon. It must suck not being able to compete. I, myself know how hard that could be.

Nice work on this one! Really smooth forging and it definitly resembles the amphitheatre. I think it would look really cool if you made the rocks at the bottom into a spartan head with helmut... an idea I have been playing around with a while.
Good luck with the competition :)
