Well, the first one (manifest) that chrstphrbrnnn made was pretty spectacular AND revolutionary. And the first Fat Kid was pretty cool at first. But when you have played it billions of times and you get little kids screaming about how they only wanna play fat kid and it's amazing and -expletive- you because you aren't giving them party lead to play it five million times in a row.... It's infuriating >.<
Hopefully they can also fix the safe-haven spawn order as well. instead of it being random all the time.
Not to mention being a one-hit kill zombie being spawn killed. It got to the point where I played devil's advocate and always rushed the dumpster trap and trapped everyone else outside for easy fat kid kills. Then I'd go and sit by the windows where zombies spawned and would spawn kill them until they'd either boot me or end the game because they got tired of being raped. Every version of 4 levels, I'd break out of and get on top and spawn kill until they ended the game or boot me. The most fun to be had with Fat Kid is... screwing the party leader that selected the game.
I am confused... is fatkid bad because the alpha zombie has a large ammount of health and a heavy weapon or is it because the minor zombies are weaker?
Allz I gotta say is, headshot proof zombies as alphas. If bungie is pulling my leg I swear I will send out my drunk chainsaw wielding guinea pig after them! On another not it would be awesome because I have an uberly amazing idea that Involves MArio..... yeah.... you know me!
I'm pretty excited, infection is the only style map that I make, so this is going to prove incredibly useful. Though I'm not looking forward to the abuses, fat kid being one of the extremes - the types where "minions" can rarely take down humans but alphas always can. Doesn't make it any fun being infected, unless of course you're alpha. I hope that alphas can have different loadouts though. It'd be nice to say, give alphas hologram and "minions" sprint, or something where as soon as you have both types, the combined effect of their armor abilities provide for some intricate teamwork.
I couldn't care less about Fat Kid, mainly because it got insanely old insanely fast. But there was so so much more to Alpha Zombie people missed out on because of the insane amount of Fat Kid. But there were a couple of great Journey maps, and the first couple of Fat Kid maps were great before they became stale.
I don't think Fat Kid will make much of a comeback, there aren't nearly enough movable objects in forgeworld to make a very long map. A new variant where the alpha is 90% speed and twice as strong as a normal human and the humans have to get to shielded in areas that have the shield eventually disappear could be pretty cool. Maybe make it so when the shield closes paths for zombies to reach the roof open up so the minions can drop from the ceiling and maybe get some kills while the humans are trapped, or distract them when the sheild opens and the alpha strolls in.
Unfortunately, 4-Levels became popular at the end of Halo 3... and that's a variant of Fat Kid. Nothing more annoying than a pathetic map with multiple turrets aimed at spawn points on one-hit kill zombie game types.
And the only reason zombies ever win in a "fat kid" gametype is because humans refuse to play smart; especially on those 4 level maps. Keep shooting, you have ranged weapons, stay at least twice as far away as his lunging distance, and once you get to the top, jump down. Rinse and repeat. The only reason people get infected is because they tried going for an assassination or though the alpha had no shields and ran in to finish it off. It's just not a balanced gametype, and I'm honestly hoping that no one tries to recreate it, especially if they plan on posting it here.
Only thing I've ever done on the 4-Level maps is try to get out of them. I've managed to do it on every single one... and if you can get a group of people outside the map, you'll never have to worry about the fat kid. In some game types, even normal zombies were screwed because they had no jump ability whatsoever.
i've never even played fat kid... but alpha z coming back is awesome just for the fact that it will make more variety.
Except when the person using the turret has a high pitched voice that he/she (sometimes you can't tell) loves to scream with. Hopefully some people will figure out how to use respawn traits. IMO setting those correctly can be more important than having an alpha zombie running around.
(Too late to check right now) Apparently, Alpha Zombies can be found by downloading the Infection gametype out of Jeremiah's Fileshare right now.
That is correct. I'm happy about this, and I know everyone is, but I really don't want every custom game I ever play again to be Fat Kid like Halo 3 was. So many of those maps sucked, with the exception of Girl (Because you couldn't just jump back to the start at the end, and you weren't able to spawn camp zombies). Either or, I can't wait to see someone come up with something new and original with this.
If they're gonna do this, they should also add a feature that lets you customize the skulls for each Firefight set up to maybe set 50.
