Hey everyone. I've played piano for 10 years and I have reached the level of Professional Artist based on the pieces I play. I'm trying out for Georgia All-State Piano on December 5. For those of you who don't know what All-State is, it is a group of music educators all around the state that recognize students musical abilities. Basically you try out for judges and do your best. There are 4 chairs for piano (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place) along with 2 alternates who fill in for dropouts. All four chairs get to perform their song at a recital. Keep in mind that those four beat out all the other pianist in the state that tried out (a couple of hundred, atleast). Well, I'm competing this year. I am performing the "Revolutionary Etude" by Chopin (here is how to pronounce it: Show-pan) also known as Chopin Etude Op. 10 No. 12. Here is a video of the Revolutionary Etude. YouTube- Freddy Kempf plays the Revolutionary Please ignore the fact that the guys looks like he is having a seizure most of the time. And don't say this belongs in the video session. I only put the video because you can't put a regular audio file in here. Tell me what you think. Comments on difficulty, techniques, etc. If there are any fellow piano players out there I would like to know what they think about it.
Ooo, That sounds hard! Good luck Aaron! Oh and by All-State Piano Song, i actually thought you meant the little jingle that plays at the end of all the new All State Commercials. But yeah, Good luck and all that. EDIT: Post a Video!
