Aligning the Crypt. Getting everything around the exact center of the Crypt is no easy task, just like in Foundry. Sure, there's a grid there, but counting all the squares can get a bit tedious, and if you loose track of even one, say goodbye to exact symmetry. If only a monitor could look directly up or down I recently came up with a little method to get the exact center of the crypt. It takes a couple minutes and two people, so its not something that's gonna take up your custom game time. Trust me, if it did, I wouldn't be telling you this So here it is: Get a friend to "spot" you at the base of the Crypt at around the estimated center of the map. Have him spawn an object and keep holding on to it. Simultaneously, you need to go up right above the Crypt (so typically right outside the tunnel that leads to the Crypt). Now, spawn a symmetrical item that can fit through the tunnel. Align it with the estimated center of the tunnel, warn your partner that your about to drop the item, and then go ahead and do so. Now its your friend's responsibility to put his spawned item right where the item first hit the ground, not where it bounced to. This object will server as a marker. Delete the dropped object and you're done! It might be easier if your friend has a little bit of a bird's eye view of the estimated landing spot for best possible accuracy. Using a blue or red light to drop works well. Good think Bungie didn't take air friction into account with the game physics :haha: cry Anyway, enjoy! by N1LLY
...so it's actually hard to figure out where the exact canter of the crypt is? huh, i thought there was a pattern on the floor or something...
..You do realize that there is like a golden strip in the middle of the crypt like foundry..thats the middle one way..then you just need to count squares to the middle of the golden strip..and there your done ..and when your done spawn like a spawn point in the middle and save as a new map
Or you could just line yourself up from the ground floor to drop down the hole making sure to not hit the sides of the tunnel on the way down (I've managed to fall from the top of the sky box and have my body go down the tunnel without hitting the sides several times so it's not hard) Where you land is the centre. Way easier and more exact.
The reason I posted this is because I hate math . And tell me how you've managed to fall from the top of the skybox, because from my experience you die when you go through the skybubble grid
I think that's what Way meant, that he could aim it so that his limp corpse falls neatly in to the hole. I personally haven't managed it yet, but it's a nice passtime when Forging and a little distracted.
Why wouldn't you just delete the box separating the ground and the crypt, overhang a wall about 1/3 of the way and fall down. It wouldn't even kill you. Exact center.
I think I missed the part where you explained how this was any easier than counting squares. Just now I counted there are 32 squares along the golden strip (well, its actually 30 squares with the 2 on the ends ever so slightly cropped by the uneven wall). How hard is it to count to count to 16 (which would be the mid point). Also, the markings on the floor (unlike the ones at ground level) are symmetrical. You can use the and you can count squares.
...ummm.....i think i have an easier way. 1. go a little up into the tunnel leading down into the crypt 2. spawn a custom powerup, fx, or light 3. drop it down the center of the tunnel 4. it should land and not bounce, right in the middle of the crypt 5. spawn something larger there and use it as a reference point 6. create your map centered around the middle thing.
