Map Description Alcazar is a medium-large map built just above the water on Forge Island. The map is mostly based on the map Castle from COD: World at War, or at least the original sketch I did for the layout was. For anyone who remembers the map from COD, the most of the main buildings are is the same general locations, but working with Halo some things did have to change. The map is now playable. Weapon drops, spawns & objectives are all done. It is setup for everything except Dominion. Extraction is still missing the extraction crates though. I may be changing a few areas and/or weapon layout to help improve gameplay. Just from flying around the map something seems a little off though. The title may also change. wow, very differant kind of map, very cleanly made, nicely layedout, not too sure on th mantis, map looks too small for it but i might be wrong, how big would you say it is compared to like Ragnarok?
I would guess its about half the size of Ragnarok; I could be wrong though. The map is about the same size as the middle island of the map though, just judging from flying above the map.
hmm okay, i mean i cant judge without playing or anything but it looks and sounds as if the mantis is on a map way too small for it, the mantis is VERY strong you need alot of space for it otherwise the map can be crowded, with its stomp thing its really effective on small maps which ive learnt from the past BUT havng said that it can also balance more because it means people get cover more and then it can make it very easy to board it, especialy if theres high bits where you can jump doen, but yeah i dont know, just a word of warning, be carefull with it there, test the map over and make sure people get in the mantis (this is the halo community so we go for big toys so itll go quickly) and then see if its fine
Well I managed to update the map. It is now playable; weapons, spawns and objectives are all on the map now. I made a few aesthetic changes and ended up deleting the Mantis. The map really is too small for it, but I left the Mongooses (mostly for CTF) Be sure to download and let me know what you think. I like the setup, but personally I feel the trees are a bit out of place. It's almost like you used them simply because you can, rather than to fit in with the map.
