[Uh-Dren-L-In] "Please Don't Rush" Adrenaline Forged by xZonKeD Co-Forger- PurpleHazen Background Story: Adrenaline started as a sketchup i started work on about 5 months ago. I designed two side towers, only one which actually stayed in the map and couldn't design a base. I tried and tried but could not think anything up and this is how i started collaborating on the map with Hikaru. We passed the sketchup back and forth with new designs and suggestions until we reached a final agreement on the overall layout of the map. I was the one forging the map so i got to work. After building about 3/4 of a rough version of the map i hit a brick wall. From were i was in the forging process i laid out the remaining map. Sadly i was left with not enough budget or enough materials and never finished for about 4 months. After showing the map to my friend Purplehazen and i told him what had to be done and what i had to work with, with my permission he took it upon himself to forge more onto the map. WIth on and off undeercover forging for about 2 weeks?, he finished about 95% of the rough version and made it work (budget and materials were not a real issue) which i then helped him finish up the map. This version then became known as Adrenaline Beta. After seeing the map's true potential and what needed work Purple and i got to designing a second version of the map which would be known as Adrenaline v1. After forging for about a week and a half on and off, i with the help of Purplehazen was able to redesign the map and forge the new version before the 'Forge like a Pro' contest could end. The most forging was done on December 30th and December 31st where about 60% of the map was forged. The map has drastic changes since the Beta version. The changes from the Beta to the release version are in the post following the thread. Description: Adrenaline is a symmetrical map containing two bases and two side towers. No it is not Onslaught! Adrenaline's initial design and plan was to give the map a Midship look, feel, and overall play somewhat like it did in Halo 2. The hardest of the three goals while making the map was making it look like Midship inside of foundry's constrictions but at the same time trying to support Halo 3's gameplay and broken BR. The map's middle design was purposely suppose to feel open on the bottom floor just like Midship's but with a few adjustments such as two large pillars which cut off long lines of sight and promotes mid range BR battles which Halo 3's gameplay supports. The map has various elevations and roots to use to your advantage. Pink Side or high tower is the powerpoint of the map standing at the highest point. Carbine side has more cover than Pink Side but is also the lowest point on the map. Mid carbine is geo glitched into the floor about 2 doors and supports a mid range Carb 3. If you like Halo 2's Midship make sure to try this map out. This map may not be reaching it's full standards right now but i sure hope it will in later versions. If you have seen the Beta and didn't really like it i suggest you download this version because it is nothing like the Beta. I know not everyone is going to like the map and many people will probably even say just another Onslaught style map i just ask that you leave feedback and post some likes and dislikes. If you would like to test send a friend request to xZonKeD with a message saying so. This map does not support flag due to spawns. Here is a beta version of the next map we will be creating that will be made solemnly to support flag. okay, don't double post. just click the edit button and add what you want to. the slideshow is okay but short, from what I saw, it was really good... 4.5/5 the interlocking is smooth, the bases look like the command center for some top-secret organization, and the map has a kind of feel to it... would dl but I have too much crap on my hard drive...
You must embed pictures on your original thread. Not that it makes the map any better or worse, its just a rule here (hopefully i wasnt to MEAN about that because i keep getting penalized for such trivial items). The map looks balanced, but could use some forging improvement. 4/5 EDIT: I was looking at another map. THIS LOOKS EPIC. BEAUTIFUL forging and fantastic setup. cant wait to play
Wow from the slideshow this map looks very smooth and the layout is very nice, I would just think about making the middle more complicated because it seems very open currently. looks good just get your post up to standards
The thread has been updated and set to par. Version 2 of the map which has some rather large changes that change gameplay and asthetics wered added. Please redownload the map and the pictures and thread will be updated tomorrow. Download link is for v2.
"Large changes" isn't even right, lol. This seems like a totally different map than the beta version I played. I really liked the layout of that version, just the spawn areas needed tweaking. I'll get back to you once I get some games on this.
This version plays epic slayer games, it really preserves that midship slayer feel and slayer spawns work amazingly. Hill also works pretty solid, although flag, unlike the beta, really doesn't work all that well. Which is why Im happy you're releasing an updated version of the beta especially for flag games.
