Most of the achievements also require you to play a certain "playlist" to get them, why do so many people bother to try to get all the achievements on Halo?
Becuase Halo 3 is the one game I had to have 1000/1000 Gamerscore on, just becuase it wouldn't feel beaten until I did I guess.
I have about half. I spend far too much time having fun to worry about them. Plus, I strongly dislike the katana and Hayabusa armor. I feel like it's a step away (or completely out) of the Halo universe. But that's just my opinion. Fear the Pink Mist is by far my favorite. The Double Laser one is by far the hardest to me.
So if we have all the achievements...are the locked elite shoulder pads going to unlock if and when they patch it?

It would be nice to finally have those unlocked, those are the coolest Elite shoulders besides the Combat ones.
I agree with Gravedigger on this one. There's too many "restrictions" put on these achievements. Some of them (ie. "Too Close to the Sun") you have to get the one specific game/map that even makes the achievment possible, in a playlist you would never play in the first place. I got 555/1000 . Almost no FFA achievements and no meta-games. No achievements for custom games. Darn, I play lots of those.
Well, the only two achievements that ticked me off was two for one and overkill..but overkill i got on a swords match in snowbound(GOD i owned that map.) and the two for one just happened RIGHT at the brink where i was about to throw the controller and go "F-You! i dont need no stinking marathon helmet!" but there it goes..happened on highground
Ive got'em all, the Mongoose Mowdown was probably the hardest for me, it's like all you do is push people out of the way, on top of that, you have no protection on that thing. Double/triple kills are f*ckin easy...
