The Map Absolution is a map designed for Team Objective, more specifically Multi-Flag. My goal when building Absolution was for it to emit a classic feel to it, while still being an enjoyable map to play on. Absolution is great for not only Multi-Flag, but for Stockpile, Neutral Bomb and Team Slayer. Since the map was built for The Objective contest, I have done my best to build it in a minimalistic style in order to achieve the least framerate possible. Unfortunately the map does not hold up well in four-person split screen, but plays fine with one guest. Hopefully you will enjoy your time on Absolution as I have put much work into building, testing and refining it to yield the best gameplay I can offer. I figured this wouldn't work so well in splitscreen... does that mean you're not submitting it to the contest then? I definitely enjoyed playing on here. The map is very simple, and I can't really give you any props for originality, but it is an interesting spin on the Beaver Creek formula. I also like your choice of terrain for the map, as I feel like most people would have just used the quarry. This is a pretty solid map overall.
Really enjoyed the one game I had on here. You have addressed most of the problems the map had. The only one I still see is the health pack on the roof of the bases. In my opinion that makes the roof to easy to defend and a really overpowering spot. Many times I would fire at people then when my shields were popped get behind the cover, recharge my shields, and rinse and repeat. This tactic was really annoying for the opposing team and it took them a good while to get me off of there. To address the problem I would just get rid of either the cover or health pack. Outside of that the map played great and I could definitely see the Beaver Creek inspiration and influence on the map. The base layout were very nice and nicely built. Good job on the map!
I had the pleasure to test this with you for a few weeks and I am amazed at how absolution ended up turning out. This map has such a unique location and all the structures are not only original but work well with each other to create a consistant theme that is reminiscent of beaver creek as mentioned above. This map really stands out from others due to the attention to detail that you were able to give to structures such as the bases due to the map being on the smaller side. Good luck in the contest.
Thanks everyone for the comments. They're really appreciated. Duck, I'm still submitting it just for the heck of it and hoping that they lower the Objective Playlist to 2PL. I'd rather submit a map with decent 2pl splitscreen but atleast possess some character and theme.
Works for me. Good luck, it doesn't exactly look like there's a whole lot of good competition anyways.
this map looks awesome, i totally will give you props for originality, it definitely is styled alot like your other maps on forgehub, i can defintly tell its yours, i love how the bases feel like actual bases and not just building blocks covered in brace pieces, the texture with the inclines is totally original and bespeaks of you forge style, awesome job!
