For links to the screenshots go to Talking About Games Talking About Games - A Halo MMO was in the works ... from Ensemble Are you shocked? There was in fact a Halo MMO being developed. It looked awesome. It had been in the works for over two years and it was being built by ... Ensemble Studios. How's that for ironic? Gamasutra scored the massive scoop today, while at the same time unearthing the first ever prototype screenshots of the fabled game which was never formally acknowledged by Microsoft, and was canceled at some point in 2007. Since we have no idea how far along Ensemble were with the project, there's no telling how good it could have been, but can we actually see what the game would have probably looked like in motion since we now have screens (which are all a combination of both mock-ups, prototype tests and concept art). Though, the proposed images make the game look ... familiar, don't they? Would it have been a PC title? 360? Cross-platform? One interesting thing to ponder, though: Microsoft now has a dedicated Halo Studio set up internally. They've openly stated that there is at least 2 or 3 Halo titles in development outside of Halo Wars and Bungie's soon-to-be-revealed project. It's no secret that Microsoft want an MMO, they've tried over and over. Could they have quietly revitalized this project under their internal development studio? With the Halo IP attached, it would seem to be a license to print money. Interesting.
this is wierd because microsoft said they were shutting down ensemble studios. maybe halowars and halo MMO are gonna be the last remnince on Ensemble.
It seems kind of interesting at first, but upon closer inspection... Halo MMO Concepts: What Your Sexy Mistress Chief Could Have Looked Like GTFO OUT OF MY HALO CANON! DDDD=
