Note that he said "and there was an explosion nearby" If you move the camera inside the explosion, you will get that blurred/sketchy effect.
I really dont know if that picture was staged or not, but it doesnt really matter because the lighting on this map is just spectacular. Plus it actually looks like a bunny! besides the face, there is none. Nice job though on this, the effects are very nice
