READ EVERYTHING BEFORE MAKING YOU'RE DECISION Everybody knows that forge is one of the best things Bungie has ever given us, but it is missing a couple things that would make it the best thing they've given us. So the question is: Would you be willing to pay 800 microsoft points ($10) OR MORE for this great forge update? If you seriously think they should, please post a comment to keep this thread alive and maybe, just maybe someone from Bungie will see this. Eventually there will be a group of supporters of this update, and everyone who has commented here will be invited to join. These are pure suggestions to Bungie, not complaints. Please take all this seriously! The update would include: - The ability to change the time of day (an object very similar to a filter) - Gaurdians (spawn them and size them like a koth hill or a respawn area) - Trees or other wildlife - Computer characters such as Grunts, Brutes, Marines, etc. (impossible, but fun to talk about) - Openable and closable doors/gates (like the ones on standoff, but closable) - More signs than just A and B - Breakable Walls (like a wall from foundry, but it would crack and eventually break when damaged) - Breakable glass windows (remember the ones on good old fashioned Zanzibar?) - Dead characters such as marines, elites, brutes, etc. - Wrecked Pelicans and Phantoms (maybe like 1 per map) - Ladders - A "Delete All Items" button - An Undo button (don't you hate when you delete something on accident?) - Roads for racing maps - Sizable Filters - A "Position Lock" button which would allow you to make sure an object could not move - Floors/larger walls - A button making objects float (instead of glitching stuff to float) - Red and Blue banners for marking the red and blue sides of maps - 90 degree snap button - A second powerup (edit it seperatly from the main yellow one) - Snowmen on snow covered maps for laughs (not default placed, just forgable) - Some sort of weather modifier (almost as hard as the AI, but people requested it) A lot of people have asked about "forge glue", and that's basically the position lock button on the list. Put an object up against a wall and click the position lock button. There you go. If I recieve a few more posts asking about the forge glue, then I will consider putting it on the list, but for now i just don't find it necessary. NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL UPDATE, JUST SUGGESTIONS TO BUNGIE.
I would probably pay 800 MS points just for: 1. instant death areas (instead of teleporters) 2. object snap 3. removable floor/ceiling on foundry 4. instant float (with movable objects as well) 5. larger money/item limit
I would pay like...$40 for that much crap I think it would be cool if they would just put a ton of different forge objects in the marketplace for sale. Or they could make like, "Forge Packs" or something. They could take a lot of the objects from the ones they used in the campaign, such as the sniper tower things.
When I first saw the Filters I was like omg yay. Then I found out they weren't sizeable and I was very dissapointed. If you could set the radius of the filter it would be awesome! But nope.. filters pretty much ruin the looks of a whole map.
Yes I agree, the filters are a bit dissapointing. I mean seriously, who in their right mind is going to use Nova on their map? It's too goddamned blurry!
I would, but none of this is possible. I hope you all realize that. Objects can't be retro-fitted to older maps, and new buttons can't be made (a undo or delete all button). The only way some (only a few are possible) would be made is in new maps, which would really only be helpful if they made a better foundry. The things that I believe are possible are: Sizable filters (I think) Time of day (but in the shape of a filter) Breakable glass windows Trees or other wildlife Dead AI (very unlikely) More Signs Red/ Blue Markers Breakable Walls (extremely pointless, but possible) Floors (not really, they would be too big) Larger Walls (really simple) Those are it. Any form of buttons or glue are not possible, and a new power-up is not possible at all. It would be a new aspect to the game that would be too hard to add in now. Things I wish could be but won't be added: More Grav Lifts/ them on different lists Different Types of Explosives or Fusion coils in groups of four Customizable "Hold RB to _____" sayings Those are all not going to happen, but would help very much in making switches. If you don't understand switches, hen you would get my requests, but they would all change making switches forever. The segmented lists of objects would make multiple switches be able to be forged because you could have separate min/max and no spawn at start switches. The "Hold RB to ____" would just be for fun, but it is sooo impossible. First of all, you can't add objects to old maps, Bungie said so them self. And, the problem with that would be (if it ever happened, which it won't) that any maps made using the packs, even if "Player A" has the base map, they would not be able to download any maps forged by anyone with the "Forge Packs". Nice idea, though.
I'm not going to answer this because this is a stupid question. Thtas like asking "Would you rather keep toying around with an unfunctional system that randomly deletes stuff, takes hours to perfectly merge and interlock, or would you rather have a fully functioning map making software" hmmm. . . i have no idea which I would choose. . . and stop copying stuff from BNET, jesus.
Yeah, Y35.. I am really over you copy/pasting stuff from BNet... Seriously... Anyway, I have always said what Bungie should do is release a Halo3.5 that has no campaign at all. A multiplayer only disc that has all the current maps, with heroic legendary and the Mythic one coming out soonish. With some extra maps, using the time they would have had instead of the campaign. Having a total of 25-35 maps. Then one open map. No walls or roof. Just a grey surface that you start off with and choose its "style". If you want the floor to be forest styled it would randomly place small ushes and rocks and trees etc... (all moveable/deletable so they don't interfer), or city or desert etc... The for the walls and roof you would place them like the KOH, Which would be very helpfull. Perhaps even cliffs, instead of walls, with death barriers. But you see where I am going with this, a full featured Halo3.5 multiplayer and forge only. This way people would get extra armour perms, and menu changes =]
Of course I'd like even more things added to Forge, and I'd probably pay for it, but I can definately see the problem with the so called "Forge packs".
I was gonna quote from up top all the ideas I liked but when I went through a second time, they're all great. Something I'd like to see is being able to label the signs. Instead of having set A and B signs. Spell your name with the signs on your map, how cool would that be. Also, 2 a new objects, I've come up with - Custom wall - It'd have the same mechanics as the doors of Foundry, Blackout, Ghost Town and Avanlanche so edges sink into walls but the size of it is up to the player. and - Another Custom Powerup - but its traits are set in the map, not one where you have to change the settings. Also, yes. I would be willing to spend 800 ms points on this.
Great ideas, but should we pay for it? I don't think so. Most of these things aren't exactly new content such as a map pack. They are mainly updates and user friendly options. OK, if you could get AI into forge or customs, that would be worth 'moola'. However, lets face it, it's not going to to happen.
I payed 1600 MS pts for bungie's "awsome" map packs, so why not for somthing that I would use a lot more than 2/3 the new maps
Kind of relevant: how come we can't use new forge items in old levels, like shield doors on Sandtrap? If there's an actual reason for that then this update thing might not be possible.
Everybody Read Reynbow's post. He has the right idea. If that costed about 25-30 dollars. I would lay it down in a heartbeat. even if it was more I'd get it. Cliffs, instant death Area's. Reynbows got the right idea.
Bungie has already stated a million and one times that making such big changes to the UI is impossible. If they cant do a few armour permutations, whats the chance we'll be seeing all of those features?
I would love to pay for that! But they also need groupable items/duplication, like if you have a big wall and you want to move it without having to reposition everything you used to make it.
i probably shouldn't be posting on a thread this old but you added me as a friend and i was just browsing through your posts. i love all these ideas i constantly wish they would have tons more options for forge i would totally buy this!
