Just a reminder: There are only 13 days left before the contest ends. If you haven't already, start testing your maps as much as you can while you still have time.
Mines getting there. Just need to get one more test session on it then it'll be posted. Everyone may see a thread up about testing it soon. If anyone wants to help me send me a PM and Ill sort out a time and date. The video preview is in my sig if you want to get an idea of what to expect.
I just posted mine up for testing in the Guild Forum. I hope that somebody will pick it and tell me if there is anything I've missed before the contest ends. Otherwise, I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. BTW, thanks to Frozenlynx for posting up an awesome contest! Weather I win or lose, it'll be a reward in itself to be competing agaisnt some of the most talented forgers out there. One last thing, would I be disqualified if my map could suport up to twelve people as well? It can support the average 4v4 Custom Slayer, all I did was place in the description: 4-12 players. I'm refering to the new rule you added and I don't want to be disqualified over that. Just let me know if it would be a problem.
^ You're fine, sir. As long as it can be played well with 4v4, it's all good. If it doesn't, you're only hurting yourself.
Oi frozen I am not gonna be posting anything for this competitions simply because I dun got the time or patience to finish my map so any chance I can help with testing?
I couldn't finish in time. :/ Because of some inconveniences. Oh well, Good luck to everyone who submit their maps. EDIT: Well maybe I'll be able to pull it out of my ass, I have it basically finished, just gotta get some internet and some time to finish it up.
Yes, I've been involved with such an event myself; there is a process you need to make it perfect. I would like to make a strong point relating to the lag-and-budget connection people seem to believe. When does it end? And how much would you have me for making the entire basis of the contest flawed?
I promise I won't merge a grid into Montana! I'll just make an exactly $5000 budget map that lags out the ass, while making it better than anything else submitted
If the basis of the contest was to make any point about lag, you'd have me there. It isn't though- the idea was simply to see what kinds of maps one could forge with only half the budget normally allocated. While it's not necessarily difficult to keep the budget under 5k, it does take some ingenuity and extremely efficient piece usage. I also think people find working under specific limitations to be a lot of fun, as evidenced by the 2x2 bank contest, even though that was a joke. Alreadyrogue has even made a pretty decent 1v1/2v2 map entirely out of coliseum walls. Anyways, no point to be made here. Just having fun.
I only just recently joined, and even more recently noticed this competition, and even more recently started building a map for it. Ive given myself 1 week, but it will be fun, I wonder how I can compare to everyone else. Is there going to be specific placings for each map or at least tiered slightly so I can see how well it compares...? I wont get anywhere near the top 3 but I want to see what level im at if that makes any sense?
