hey everyone, Zeeb here. member since 09, user since 08. i've been lurking these halls for a long time now, and yet not many people probably know anything about me. i've been very much into music and art my entire life, i also happen to love halo. when forge was introduced it was a match made in heaven for me. if only we could add our own soundtracks to our maps, it would be perfect. i'm an extremely competitive player that loves to win. i have a solid team of 4 that i play matchmaking with constantly. i also enjoy trading ideas and suggestions with other forgers that i know. looking to expand my horizons, and hopefully a few others along the way.

When you want to forge, try drawing out a design first and figure out how to make gameplay flow in certain ways. If it seems from a design perspective that gameplay isn't going the way you want, try adding dangers or weapons to these underused areas to help your map make players want to go there and therefore creating the map flow that you want. You can do the same with objectives. And if you get the idea to forge from one specific room that you came up with in your mind, don't go through with it. Instead, design the map and then figure out a way to fit it into your design. I can't count how many dreadfully small maps i created making that mistake.

If a testing session shows some aspects of your map that are accidental but are cool, then why not just leave them in there! Also, you want to remember to create one aesthetic type for your map. If its all multi coloured and massively jumbled then players will dislike the feel of the map and you may even lose a few players to a siezure or two from a map like this:

no offence to the creator. Just an example of psycadelic map creation.

Also, when using lights, keep in mind the objects they are affecting as use of lights on objects like glass can create massive lag. Do not worry if it begins to lag in forge. Only worry if it lags in Custom Games too.

Another thing you must remember is that everyone will have different opinions on your map. If you post a map and someone suggests a change in the map then don't implement it right away. Instead, read through conversations about such changes and only implement those that the majority think should happen. Anyway, thats it from me. Glad to offer some advice to a forger much like myself.

What's goin on Zeebie? I hear you're into music and art, I just so happen to have passions for the same things. Hope to see ya around here more often. From what I've read you're quite the competitor. While much of us are casual, there are plenty of competitive players here as well. I believe 4shot and Pegasi are our top MLG guys. See ya around;)

    ...or else.

hey lannders, thanks for the warm welcome. i'll keep that in mind if i need any skulls cracked. haha

hi epic. thanks, thats solid advice i'll keep in mind. good to meet ya bud.

priest! that was alot of fun running those customs and forging the other night. we need to do that again sometime soon. i can't wait to try out that koth. see ya soon buddy.

skisma! they say great minds think alike!

i use the phrase "extremely competitive" very loosely. Heh, i play to win and while i am pretty decent at the game, i would likely just be cannon fodder to those guys.

"...or else." HaHa, nice. i laughed out loud when i read that.
