Version two is very dark. Although it is 'cool looking', its not a good style to depend on.
Stocks and Renders are two separate things. Elaborate a little more than just the stock (or in this case render) than just its basic core.

It won't happen. Bungie has even spoken about the unlikelyhood of another Halo (other than Halo 3: ODST). They probably will only wait and see...
