Hey man! I'll probably be on in a couple hours, if you're on I'd be glad to hop in-game with ya. About the inclines and railings and such, there's bound to be a way to do something about that. If you have plenty of inclines left, you could use 1x2s to the sides to add thickness and then add something to the bottom to make it look like a solid structure. It may be a little time consuming since you'll have to freehand the ramps to get the right angle, but I think it's worth it. I could show you in forge if you want.

I was mainly talking about the outside paths leading to the tower area. Again, the thinness of the 2x2s doesn't look quite right. Also, even though the dominion railings would've stopped me from falling off, the lack of concrete structure on the outer edges made me feel vulnerable. Does that kind of make sense? I would suggest using the decorative railings instead. And then use thicker objects for the paths so they look more believable

I haven't seen you around much in the past week or so. How has Core been going? I'm interested :)

I think you really nailed it this time around, Kazerra. Overall the design has improved significantly since you first posted that map preview, haha. I know you've put a lot of work into this and it's definitely paying off man. Fantastic job.

Sorry I had to go so soon earlier. Just wanted to let you know again that I really enjoyed our game earlier. I guess my latenight forgethrough gave me the wrong idea about the tower last night. It definitely didn't seem too open, I think the rocks added a bit of cover which I didn't notice before, nice. One thing I did notice though, as you mentioned earlier, was that the railings did get a bit annoying trying to shoot around. But that's an easy fix.

Another thing, I loved the addition of the lift. It worked really well gameplay-wise and it looked good, but it did fail me once or twice. Another thing that won't take long to fix though.

Overall it looks great aesthetically, but there are just a few minor things that I might work with if I were you. But then again I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to aesthetics so if you're fine with the way it looks, then I wouldn't worry about it :)

      30 minutes?

To me it just seems like the Rv.R ratio is sizably favoring the risk portion right now. The thin columns could be hid behind in a 1v1 scenario, true, but with 2v2 it'll be played very differently. In 2v2 if you end up hiding behind that column for too long you will no doubt be easily flanked from the opposite side.

I do really like the addition of the new room. It shortens up that walkway to the tower some like you said which is good, and it'll give the courtyard more use as well

The problem is that the railings don't block any lines of site, leaving you out in the open and vulnerable. They're basically only giving cover to your legs and feet, which most players won't be aiming for, lol. It needs some type of vertical cover like you previously had. Think of the two towers on The Pit from Halo 3 - they have those L shaped cover pieces. Without those, the towers would essentially be free kill areas, whoever goes up there would be vulnerable from every side.

Of course, this is if I'm remembering correctly. After all it was pretty late when I looked it over... But yea I would love to get a 2v2 on this today :)

I wouldn't necessarily say the lack of height variation is a problem, but it may lead to some stale engagements.

And have you changed the blue tower since last night?? Haha, I may just be remembering wrong though. You're talking about those dominion railings, correct?

And the area around the blue tower is waaaay too open. Even with the Sticky Det spawning up there, I feel like it won't receive much traffic at all with the lack of structure.

Checked it out last night and I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed. It feels so much better now without the paper thin walls. I like the way you did the lift as well. And the addition of the new room is interesting. However the main thing I noticed was the lack of height variation going from the new room all the way to the sniper area. Thoughts on raising that corner room that connects the two?

You don't have to worry about doing that before you put it on your fileshare! I was just gonna check out the geometry and then we could check it out together more tomorrow

Lol...I won't be on until later than that, I'm sorry buddy. Is it in your fileshare? I could check it out tonight (night for me at least :p) and tell you what I think next time I'm on?

About 30-40 minutes before I sign out, but that's pushing it a bit because it'll be almost midnight by then haha.

I'm not really sure what you mean, you'll have to show me in-game next time

Yeah, unfortunately the size of the map meant that 4x4 blocks were entirely necessary. I would have preferred it if Certain Affinity didn't make every bridge have a bevelled edge :/

It's not on my file share, but just send me a message on xbox live, and i'll be happy to show you once I throw some spawns down :)

I've updated my map thread with the final geometry if you fancy having a look. For some reason it merged my posts so it's on like page 4 :(
