I'm getting a better and better picture of what our map should look like. I didn't buy the game yet though, and it will probably take at least another week until I will :(
Hope you can wait that long until we can start with our map. I'll make up for you by making a sketch sometime during the next couple of days, to show you how I think we should create each phase.
Watch this video to see all the pieces on Erosion, by the way. I think we should use that canvas, the only issue I foresee is that it might not be dark enough; if so, we can use Impact instead.

Overall, I really think our map is going to be freaking awesome. I hope Z-fighting won't become an issue though: 343i removed the slow moving tool from Reach where you could slightly move a block out of another block so there wouldn't be Z-fighting. :(

I wasn't able to, unfortunately, because on Thursdays I always stay in Groningen due to activities with my frat.

Hey man, I think you should post Crimson's Fear on the forums.
Even though there aren't a lot of people who will play the map, I feel you should post it anyway since it's a decent map and the aesthetics are quite as cool as on Pandora's Fear. It's overall just a very good map, better than most maps on Tempest, especially Infection maps.

I suggest using Erosion as the canvas forge map for our map, unless those buildings really get in the way. There's lots of sand and rocks, and the water looks just like the perfectly blue water from an oasis. And if it turns out to be insufficient, we can still just use Ravine - or even Impact if we need a really dark sky. :)

Hey, I updated Favela Run's preview with new pictures! And I was wondering if you could do me a favour. Could you test FR sometime soon when getting on your xbox? I have only been able to get a few games without lag so it's hard to tell whether or not I should change the difficulty for players. (There might be lag anyway because of object density / ridgeline being unable to handle it as well as forgeworld / etc) I'll put the map in my fileshare sometime next Saturday, so you can test it by then or later in the weekend, or maybe next week if you have time. Thanks in advance!

PS: You need to have at least 11 players in the party. I have to know how it plays now if you have a big lobby! Oh, and make sure to use zm_Outbreak as the gametype.

Risk we're taking is that we'll never get around to it but I agree that it's the best bet.

I was on hazing for 2 weeks, and before that I was on an introduction week. School's kicking off next Monday, things are going to get busy now. We might be able to still finish our map in Reach but perhaps we'll have to work on it in H4 instead. We'll see.

Awesome! I have hazing the next two weeks, and immediately after that college already starts. So I don't know if we can actually finish our map before HotD3, or even before the end of Reach :(
Maybe we'll have to make it in Halo 4. The player traits zones and dynamic lighting would make for an interesting map. However, honestly I don't know if I can still forge by then, especially now that I finished intro week of university, and figured that I'm going to be extremely busy this year. So my bold plans to buy an xbox on my own (whenever I move out) might be jeopardized, due to the probable lack of time, money and interest. I guess we'll see, at least until Reach is over I can still play in the weekends.
But the good thing is, that I can say that I like the student's life. :)
