I'm not going to respond in the thread, because at the basic level I agree that the fire doesn't need any more fuel. But what I took exception to in particular was his direct assertion that the staff were being lazy in their motivation for this decision. I felt this was unwarranted and unfair itself, and definitely constituted an actual attack rather than just objection, as you assert.

With regard to how strong I was with respect to other parts of the argument, again I feel that was warranted. You're right that it's fair to bring up concerns, but it was brought up, explained, and then dredged up again. The fact that certain people kept pushing the point, regardless of explanations and past standards for forge competitions before now, was the other part of what I took exception to. I apologise if I came off as overly harsh, I genuinely didn't mean to come off as presumptuous to fair minded individuals such as yourself, nor do I presume to speak on behalf of the staff anymore, but honestly I felt the degree with which it was coming up in the thread got kinda silly. And when he insinuated that the decision was based on staff not wanting to do as much work, I kinda felt that was pretty out of line.

Yeah, I've been drawing maps like crazy, and the last two were 2v2 flag maps.

I will try to describe one: It is a one way symmetrical map consisting of three atriums. Two of them are team spawn/flag atriums, and the third is the neutral flag spawn and the focal point of the map.

The idea is that red and blue atriums are close to eachother while the neutral atrium is somewhat distant, so once a team decide to grab the flag, the other team has a chance to cut them off.

The only potential problem with this map is the connection. I feel like the two 45 degree hallways will **** me over.

The other one is a two way symmetrical map for multi-flag. Nice and simple, but not boring.

What problems did you encounter when playing? I felt the most significant problem is that once a team grabs the flag, it's hard for the other team to stop them. I made sure to prevent that issue with both of these designs.

Yep, The 2nd Law is marked down, and it got moved back to October, which made me sad. But if it's better in quality for it, then so be it.

Those are my thoughts exactly, though. I won't be unhappy if I don't have an 'afterlife,' since I will never really know, but the possibility of one within the laws of logic is uplifting.

I have a few Puscifer songs for you now :D

      Puscifer - Monsoons - YouTube

Puscifer - The Humbling River with Lyrics - YouTube

Puscifer - Indigo Children (JLE Dub Mix) - YouTube

The Fragile was pretty fantastic as well; Just Like You Imagined is incredible. NiN doesn't resonate with me the same way it does for you though, however, I could say that Puscifer and Muse have that effect on me. If you haven't looked into Puscifer, that's the direction you should go next. Some of their songs are very heavy and industrial, others are remarkably soothing, and they all have an incredible atmosphere.

That article had a similar effect on me, and I've shown it other people, and it seems like the more artistic are able to appreciate it more. Some people, like Matty and a couple other people I've shown it to, understand it well enough, but don't undergo any sort of revelation, or see any practical implications behind it. Others, like myself, Mingo, and now you, probably feel a deeper connection to it, maybe because it not only invalidates the fear of death, but also offers another perspective on life after death. It fills a gap, so to speak.
