Yeah I'm looking at CPU+mobo+RAM bundles and £350+ should get me what I want, and I can get a decent 650W PSU, GTX 660ti, case and hard drive added to that for under £800 total cost, will be easily as good as I want to I'll see what I can shave off price wise closer to the time. If, that is, I can summon up the money for this :P.

Yeah I remembered after I'd sent that VM that I've actually installed Windows from a USB before when I had my netbook, and worst comes to worst I can borrow a USB DVD drive from work for a day. As for the sales, I noticed that more and more as I looked around. i guess the things I'm less sure on are what exactly I want from a mobo and PSU, other than ability to support my chosen CPU for the former and sufficient power for my GPU from the latter.

Hey dude, got a job I thought you might enjoy. I'm considering (emphasis on considering) putting a dedicated gaming rig together. Ideally I'm looking to spend about £800, and so far I'm thinking of an i5-3570K and GTX 660ti but the rest is up in the air. Could I get a decent build with those and for that price? Don't stress too much about SSDs or even an optical drive, I can sort an SSD later if I care and can get an optical drive which will do me enough to install windows then barely ever use it again. Monitor, keyboard and mouse are already taken care of also.

Also, I've been looking at Overclockers as a reference, do you think they're alright or do you prefer another site?

if you're thinking about mining, I have the skills to fly an exhumer (minus the exhumer skill itself, the skillbook is like 27kk)

though now a normal mining barge can hold like 27k space for ore, so something with a buncch of miners might be good

Eh, I was thinking more a distraction, like throwing a torch or something. Though I guess wildly moving light is too obvious a distraction, more somehow activating (or uncovering) a distant light source might lead enemies to try and turn it off or confuse them or something. just general distraction.
