... I'm genuinely sorry that it came off as harsh, and looking back it was definitely said with a strong tone. That said, I make no apologies for writing what is essentially a short post. As others will be able to testify, the idea that anything more than 1 medium sized paragraph has suddenly become an "essay" or "novel" depresses me a lot. I question how people get very far in any discussion, or actually any academic environment past about 10 years old, if reading even that much is an insurmountable effort to them. I find this particularly strange when it's a subject you supposedly want to discuss, to the point of actively weighing in on the discussion yourself. ...
....As for contradicting everything you said, that's because I disagreed with everything you said. Do you want me to pretend I agree just to make you feel better? I don't really understand your objection here. Plus, I'd like to point out that there was more than one occasion in your post where you got to the point of patronising people who object to radar, even going so far as to thrust some reasoning on to their argument (the bit about it being too hard to focus on radar) when no one even said anything about that. I wouldn't describe that as mild mannered.
---------- How's about I test this for you? I love the theme and the way it looks. I got a little sneak peek at this map too. It's come a long way since then. Want me to play it at my next BIOC? I'll give you the feedback. ---------- If you're going to, you might as well save the feedback for the recap thread I'm going to post next Monday. It'll cover a new style of recapping, very similar to the TCOJ recaps.
Okay. Can you also put the belonging gametype in your fs, if it's not there already? You should submit your map in the submissions thread as well, so other staff members can pick it up. We're not using that thread enough, imo.
Could you test Deadborough in your BIOC lobby for me? I'll make sure to put the lastest version in my fileshare in time.
It's okay bro. FHF doesn't really mean anything, so don't worry what goes on in the thread. People generally don't ask others to vote for them, and Sky is a troll (you should know that.) Some people advertise past FHF wins, but most don't care.
Oops forgot about it. Yeah I didn't really see any major issues besides the soft kill. But the rounds seem to be really short, though. And especially in the beginning, the zombies always seem to take out a few humans already. Maybe make a special gametype with slower zombies. But, I've only played the map once so far so it could be due to the players. You should submit it for my BIOC lobby! Then I'll test it.
By the way, I think you should make BIOC 2 already anyway. I'm pretty sure we can get that first gamertag filled up so we will be in need of a second one in the future - hopefully soon, it depends on both our YouTube channel and when 343i puts up the new "Bungie.net" -, and I wanna make sure nobody else will steal the name.
... So probably try to be different, but generally stick with the same concept, unless you really want to mix things up. But no matter what I just said, I'd say just go for what you were going to go for, because once again, I really liked act 1, and I'm sure you'll do a great job with the other two again. PS: Injection was the second lab map we played, a really dark one, with the tunnel part with the focus rifle at the end (tunnel was made with tunnels parts on their side). We played it after the map with all the colors and one way shields. ;)
Depends on what you mean with the same type of gameplay. Because I really liked the aesthetics of the first act, it reminds me of a medieval building / castle, but I think you should try to mix up the gameplay as in layout, like maybe add a little plaza or open space, or make usage of the water, maybe. Overall, I liked the way the first act played, but it's dangerous to keep on using the same style of playing when it's successful the first time, because the second time, it might get repetitive. My guessing is though, that with your map it's okay to do it for the second map again, because I think it'll be fun again. And if it doesn't work out, you can always change it in act 3, or even remake act 2. ...
Hey, how did you like that Injection map we played last Sunday? (By The 0micron) Do you have any feedback? PS: Are you still in touch with FantasticNoob? Haven't seen any maps by the two of you lately, although I did like your guys's older maps.
I can only review one of your maps, which one do you want me to do? Act 1 or Goblin? Right now I'm picking Act 1 (have to choose one, and that's the only one I played several times), please tell me anyway.
I decided to make a BIOC gamertag soon myself as well, because I have more freetime now so I think I can find the time to manage it. Either way, do you mind if I just pick "BIOC 1" and then you make "BIOC 2"? You can go ahead and pick your own preferred e-mailaddress. Also, if you were to make the 2nd one, obviously you don't have to rush making it anymore since I need to get the 1st one filled anyway. Please let me know what you think. (Cause I don't know if you already made plans to make it, etc.)
Could you try to make it as soon as possible? What we could do is if we just use the BIOC email address, I don't know if you're okay with that. Anyway the email is bioc.management@gmail.com, but it could be better to use a hotmail indeed, since that works a lot better with Xbox.com. Yeah it's probably better to do that, but still, it could be useful to have me make an email address and give you the name so you can use it for the gamertag. Just tell me what you think. Either way, I don't want to push you but the sooner we get that gamertag up and running, the better ;) I want to bring BIOC back to life
Did you already get around to making the BIOC gamertag? I have holiday as of today so I would really like to use it to host custom lobbies to test my maps, your maps and other people's maps.
