Is that the closest you'll get to an admission that my complaint is valid (assuming the premise of what I value about previous Halo games)?

Obviously it's subjective in terms of the loss of that nature being a bad thing, but my point was simply that I, and many others, do consider it a bad thing, and that's why I'm (we're) hesitant about the announcement of any customisation which affects gameplay. I don't see how we need to have such an addition explained in more detail to validate this worry, which was (correct me if I'm wrong) your original criticism.

It's a simple question. I outlined that, what I (and plenty of others) think of as the core of Halo's appeal is its nature as what Nutduster calls a "pickup shooter" which basically means everyone starting each game on a level playing field, with only their skill (and what they work for and gain within that game) differentiating them.

As far as I'm concerned, that nature and any kind of customisation which affects gameplay are mutually exclusive. If you can think of any situation where they aren't then I will gladly concede this point, though obviously what they actually implement remains to be seen, a point we can both agree on.

And sorry, you're gonna use "things change" and then lecture me on debate technique? Give me a break.
