Yeah, read the book in High School, and a lot of it stuck. I'd call myself a practical Randian. Honestly been seeing a lot more gamertags pop up since the movie. I'm glad I grabbed the GT when I did.

It's always nice to meet another well-read forger :)

Writing a comic book script are you?

Yeah, I can definitely agree with that. Gives a lot more room for thought and really lets the audience draw their own conclusions and, hopefully, go back and visit it again to see someone else's side of the story.

Might I ask, how far along you are on your novel? Because if this story was a sort of spiritual predecessor to your upcoming work, I'd be very interested to see how it pans out.

Hey I'm sorry I never got a chance to formally critique your writing. I got swamped with some college stuff and getting a dorm situated and trying to get books early and as cheap as possible and all that jazz. But I digress, I really enjoyed your short story. It is a little dense, and there were a few times I had to look something up, but:
      1) I don't have an insane amount of word knowledge (for lack of a better term)
      2) I suspect most readers of The New Yorker are more literate than myself
so I see this as something marginal. I did find the story rather entertaining and many parts made me chuckle, so kudos on that one. The pirate scene was easily my favorite in the story. Like Xun said, it's very easy to understand, and I found myself laughing out loud whilst reading it. I also think your footnotes were a neat inclusion in the story, however I feel you could make them even better if this was a novel.

The reason I say this is they really give the reader the feeling they're reading through a journal of the Time Traveler's experiences. I feel like in a novel or a graphic novel, you could have the option to, instead, put those footnotes as little side notes in the margin and stylize them so it looks like the Time Traveler added those aside from the writing to convey a better understanding of his world and his feelings.

To me, the footnotes make this seem like I'm reading some published documentary or a memoir of past events, whereas the side notes I proposed would give that feel of a personal journal. Food for future thought. But I didn't find any of the footnotes distracting in the least; I enjoyed them as small entryways into a bigger picture of the world you presented in the story.

Tl;dr - I really like this story alot, and I hope you find success in seeing it published. From what I've read, you're an absolutely brilliant writer and I'd love to read more from you in the future.

Somewhat, I almost got suspended & was given a formal meeting with one of my teachers for doing it in class. While she was teaching I just started causally removing pieces of clothing to see how long it would take her to noticed..

Yeah, he's my favorite character in the book for sure. Jaime becomes a distant second, who I didn't expect to like at all.

Can you sticky this so it doesn't fall behind and get lost; then people wouldn't be able to submit their maps. Thank you if you do this.

**** ME. That is complex. Don't get me wrong, I understand it. But thats pretty scary how many words I'd almost never used before were in that story.
      Its damn good, though.
