Still loving casual play though, Rumble Pit is just too easy, and when I get a game of dubs on Asylum it all comes together. These guys weren't even awful.

Idk about too easy, though I do know what you mean sometimes. I can 5 shot really at most ranges and am still improving with my pacing, but often enough I'll get outspammed which makes me feel like all that practice means next to nothing, and other times I'll land perfect shots after a full bloom reset (a lot of the time even as my first shot, so bloom CAN'T have been a factor) only to have the enemy continue to sprint away. The pace which the DMR forces on you for any kind of consistency is vastly mismatched with the pace of the game itself, and speeding up is handing yourself over to lady luck and still feels too slow enough of the time.

I used to be a strong exponent of bloom if it was done right, punishing spammers but enabling mastery, much like the NR actually. But now I just want to be able to turn it off regardless of how well it works, just for the pace alone so I don't feel like I'm wading through treacle the entire time.

Lol I just had a bad day getting screwed over by the disparity between game pace and the pace bloom allows you to go at/slow and steady strats beating quick wits and skill left right and centre in dubs, and general niggles with high level competitive play.

I saw a comment on B.net which I think sums it up well, basically that it's more fun overall than 3 by a noticeable amount, but for competitive play it just doesn't match up sadly. I say sadly because it's not even a bad mechanic at all, it's just a few balance issues which go against the idea of power being proportionate to difficulty of use which make it fall at the final hurdle. If they'd given us just a few more options and tuned a couple of things just a little further away from making awful players feel good about themselves, we'd have possibly the best Halo ever for my purposes. But meh, still love the game, just hate myself for loving it.
