That's been an issue of controversy here for a while. The reason we have this rule is so that people will take their time and post longer, more well-thought-out posts. At the same time, I understand what you're saying about wanting to tell someone something without writing a paragraph.

Well, for right now it's the rule, so we should probably obey it without so much questioning. If you really want to tell someone something, just send them a message.

Hi there, recently as I'm sure you recall, I wrote a comment on your clock tower map saying to edit your posts into one rather than creating a new thread. I do apologize, I didn't really look into it that great to realize that they are different maps with a similar theme. My bad.

On a separate note, (one that doesn't apply to that situation), you also had said that there is no rule against posting "updated" versions of maps, which there is and isn't, if you post multiple threads in the same forum in a really short time frame (within the same day or so), mods may look at it as "flooding" the forum, or spam. And both of those are definitely against the rules. (Generally flooding takes more than two threads though.)

I'm not trying to be condescending at all, really. By nature, I'm not really a mean person or someone who likes to bother others. I'm actually just trying to be sinceir and help you out. I noticed you were talking about how some folks didn't get in trouble for spamming, and the only way they wouldn't get in trouble is if nobody reported them. This means that you didn't report them. Because you didn't want them to get off free, and you didn't report them, I deduced that you didn't know the report button existed.

I tried to assist you by being helpful (not condescending) and telling you about the report button. It's only after sending you the message that I noticed who you actually were.

I'm not trying to mean. I don't even understand where your hate is coming from. Stop, please. If you think you want to reply in a nice way, do so.

If you notice any spam on the forums, be sure to report it using the report button. The staff can't constantly review every single thread (they have a life too). By reporting a spam comment, you can make sure that the staff manage to review it personally.

From what I see, he attempted to help you showcase your map and you gave him attitude to him.

As for my previous vm, it is very hardtoread tone. With that being said, the "who are you", at least to me, shows attitude. Im sorry for being harsh.

I don't get it. Maybe you should read the rules instead of giving me attitude.

I could barely understand one word of what you said, so please don't play a douche move and criticise me for one mispelled word. You literally didn't even make any sense. I am not criticising you in a bad way. I am only trying to help you for your future here at Forgehub.

Now I understand that this was your first map post, but what difference does that make? If you have poor grammer that belies a lack of care for your map, why should I or anyone else not try and help you? I did not jump on you. I did not post some crap nonconstuctive criticism. I posted advice that can actually help you in the future. If you really want to be known as the type of person who can't handle simple, friendly advice and who lashes out at the slightest hint of criticism, then that's just fine.


I'm going to leave you alone now. I have no interest in talking to you any further.

By the love of God, please use proper grammer when on these forums. We don't ask for perfection here, but at least try to be understandable : )

Also, the reason we have a rule about pictures isn't to annoy new members, it's to have people show off their map in a way that doesn't require a stranger to DL it to understand the map's basic layout and gameplay principles. The entire point of Forgehub is to showcase your map so that people can decide ahead of time if they truly want to download it. It's also a great way for good map-makers to gain more downloads.

Adding in one picture and a non-existant description (you need at least 500 characters of text I believe) does not qualify as showcasing your map. Most people will probably assume that the amount of effort you put into posting your map is the same amount of effort you put into making it.
