Haha, I came across this kid's thread on B.Net and had a conversation with him about posting in the customs lobby here. I was just posting that so he would feel welcome, but apparently that wasn't a good idea, because someone else already said my post was "unnecessary."
I'm at work right now but I'll send you some info when I get off in a couple hours. You'd fit in well there I think. Good bunch of guys and girls.
v2 - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service Excel - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service Thanks :)
I'm gonna put all the objects in the appropriate folders then hopefully add prices via Pro. I should have this done tonight or tomorrow, but now I'm off to Disneyland lol, so hold off on posting anything just yet.
When you get finished with V2 let me know. I have an example of one with Groups and Pricing. PM me ur email and I'll send it to ya. Here's a screen shot: [IMG] You just select the layer you want to view in the top right and "select all" to see how many of that group you have To find out the Budget simply click on one of the price tags to find out how many 10$, 50$, or 150$ items you have then do the math. You can hide the prices by hiding that layer.
HAHA! I did it! With layers. If you want I can make all the changes. Basically you open up the layers window and name all the layers. -building blocks -buildings -Doors, windows, and walls -etc Then you open each of the components that you have made. Select all the lines and faces of that component and "make group". Then make that group the desired layer. When you build your map make sure to build on "layer 0"(which we should rename "BUILD ON THIS LAYER") this way you dont have a piece that is on two layers. Then when you want to count your objects simply go to the layer window. Turn off all the other layers except the one you want to count. Use "Ctrl + A" (select all) then look at your entity info window to see how many components you have selected.
Let me see what I can do. There are "Dynamic Components", "Layers", and "Groups" we should be able to work out something.
Well bungie has placed all objects such as building blocks into groups that share an overall count. Maybe would could make each group a layer to make it easier to count your objects. Is it possible to do this?
Got my sketch-up up and running. Got a pretty sweet map so far. I was wondering how far you've gotten on your sketch-up objects revision. I was thinking of some convenient changes, and I was wondering if you thought of em already. [IMG] This is gonna be above the coastline connecting the cliffs between Alaska.
The design is like narrows but you can go under the bridge and on the sides. I designed it for the crypt so its 32x32, but im pretty busy and cant forge it now so ill wait for reach. i think it would work in the blood gulch canyon with parts of it going into the ground. idk. leave whatever feedback u want. I know its hard to see a map just from sketchup but, thanks again.
ok my messages just kinda disappeared so ill try again... MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service thanks again
Okay i have no idea where the right place to do this would be but you look like someone who knows what they're doing. I have a pretty good map idea i think and im just gonna wait for reach to forge it cuz it will take an eighth of the time or so. But I drew it up in sketchup and I was wondering if u knew where i should ask someone to look at the design and see if its worth my effort to go ahead and forge it or not. Msg me back if u can or if not then i know u have bigger more important moderatorish/review hub jobs to attend to.
