      So basicly if you wanna just start messing around with the terrain generator, feel free. Either though manually doing it or making some kind of heightmap on photoshop. And anything you wana get back to me on, feel free. These are just ideas me and texturedsun came up with today.

      My ideas'
      - Elevation is going to be really important. There needs to be some kind of flow to the landscape to give a sense of realism, but i really don't want any big hills or anything. Some of the land will end up being cliffs at the shore (not a surrounding beach like in the pic) and this will help to cut off the beaches to make it harder to navigate to everything immediately, and also make the beaches look a bit more rare and beautiful.
      - Obvious things like having a slight dip where the paths are brings in a lot of realism, and then trying to create a kind of flowing lanscape, with ups and downs, like a sea. The same thing should be done underwater, which seems silly but it's important that everythings done.

      My Ideas;
      - The forest is going to be very dense. Hopefully, because the island won't be very big and have practically no LOD (distant detail), we can get away with cramming loads of data in to this small space and have no lag.
      - The farm is going to act as some kind of distillery / vineyard, where TexturedSun will be brewing alcohol. There are enough items in-game to pull this off methinks.
      - The port is going to be a kind of fishing village. Very small scale, hopefully with a nice caribbean feel to it, something like the locations in Crysis.
      - Caves and **** can be put anywhere so no worries there, obvious places could be around the rocky clearings.

      My ideas;
      - Travel by small raft, which takes you to the beach on the left hand side. From there you are practically led to the village, because the forest is going to be so dense it doesn't seem wise to traverse. This is all going to be about player manipulation, just like Halo. Ofrouce the areas north and south of this beach are going to be interesting locations with things to see and do, but because they are going to be basicly out of sight for a new arriver, he's going to be doing exactly what we want him to do, and walk his ass into town.
