Tritton AX Pros are about $100 cheaper from the Astros, more like $150 if you factor in free shipping and the optical cable. The quality isn't as great, they're decently heavy, and they're REALLY easy to break. It's still a good headset if you're really careful with them, it's got real surround (which means 4 speakers in each ear), and that's pretty good, though it's got some gaps where you won't hear people at all if they come at you from certain angles. Audio quality isn't as good as the Astros, and there's pretty much no way you'll want to go out with the AX Pros, or move them at all for fear they'll break. I've broken three of them :P and I take decently good care of my stuff.

A30s are for just $20 cheaper, but are half as heavy, pretty much able to forget they're on your head (they're all around the same weight, Astros probably the lightest). The main difference between the A30s and A40s, besides the weight difference, is that they rest on your ears (they're still really comfortable), the audio is more bass-heavy while the A40s are more focused on mid-range noises, and it's got an internal hidden mic. Basically, if you plan on using your headset for a regular audio headphones in the subway or something, you'd want the A30s to not look like a total nerd, plus you can use the hidden mic for your phone (or just wear the A40s like me, and look like a total nerd ;D).

Well....A40 is probably best for general home usage. It goes around the ears (like the TB X41s and Trittons), which usually means more comfort in long gaming sessions. It's wired, and if you don't have an optical cable, you'll want to buy one of those too. Audio quality is the best of all of them, surround is simulated but pretty good. Very durable.

If you have a choice of any headset, I'd go for the A40s. But it really depends on what you're looking for most.
