You can access the Forge Academy board? Feel free to make a thread or two in there and get all your stuff organized.
Yeah, exactly, I won't choose any of them, I just find it annoying that I can't think of how to explain what I'm doing and people keep thinking it's that way.
Maybe I'm pushing the wrong point...I dunno. Look through the thread and you'll see what I mean...most guys are all "i needz to get bettar designs, so i wants 2 go 2 insain's clazz". Though Dewski's submission was a really interesting one I hadn't thought about before, using the design mentality to improve competitive decisions. Not sure I'll have him as one of the guys but it's certainly an interesting point.
"A short recommendation to those that aren't sure what each are: Steps Towards Map Design Mentality deals exclusively with what's already been done. You'll be looking at already distinguished maps (mainly Bungie's and some MLG), and breaking down the thinking progress by backwards-engineering those maps. This is not a 'practical use' design course. Player Manipulation is an extremely in-depth class and is focused on effecting player's actions in your map. This is a huge part of design, and is very practical in building your own map. An Introduction to the Forge is a class suited more towards Forging beginners (but not totally newbies) who want to learn about how one would properly build maps, go over Forging techniques, and such." But people keep posting about how they want to join my class to "improve their design skills", which is really not what I'm doing. Thoughts to change the words so it makes more sense?
Hey, thanks man. Yeah i totally 100% agree with criticism on maps. If the comment won't help the creator, then don't post it.
hahaha. im going to be buying the program soon. After I get a few projects out of the way, specifically my comic, then a few more strips in the same vein as that Optimism vs. Pessimism one I did.
Geektool. You can also use Activity Monitor. Then switch to CPU or something of the like (cant think of the exact name) on the bottom to show how your processes are stacking up in terms of processing power
agreed on all counts, SysPrefs is slightly faster actually, I've spent quite some time in it for geektool XD
Hm, I've thought that but your "clean install" spiel convinced me otherwise lol. Either way still much faster overall.
Adium is a multi-chat thing, like trillian. they arent giving me any real problems, just noticeably slower :/
quicksilver, adium and safari, though i dont use the last one. seems to be working fine now, though the first one is much slower now
