Well Sarge's guide was posted fairly late in the night, and I'm pretty sure when the majority of people are on at 4ish, you'll have even more competition. I always post maps really early in the morning, to get the most amount of views possible, usually they'll last up to 8PM or so on the front page.

well if you post it as a blog first, people will still see it, so it's kinda like a map post. Then a couple weeks later, post it as a map thread. :D I don't think it's against the rules or anything, I heard Agamer talking about something like this before.

I'd fix the dl link on your canvas map so it says in big bold letters,

DOWNLOAD LINK: OLNBC.

But in a colour, like red or something, and in a bigger text. It's hard to see your dl link actually.
