Very true, seems kinda superficial but then I too wanted to get a HD one just to avoid any criticisms like that ever coming up, plus it enables a bit more wriggle room with complex effects and stuff. Nice on Novak's montage btw, should definitely be worth a watch.

The only cables you need is the extra loop cable, for sending the component input from the box in to your normal tv, so you can monitor and control the xbox with no video lag (when watching it on the comp there's like a 1-2 second lag). But that comes free with the HD PVR anyway, and it seems like a really solid high quality cable, so yeah, you shouldn't need to buy anything extra.
