You *****. I could probably find it somewhere over here in a similar kinda theatre, but tbh I can't be bothered in the slightest, I can wait till it comes out on dvd and suchlike, apparently it should be this summer sometime.

      Totoro!

I'm keenly awaiting the english dub of Ponyo to come out, I watched a subbed version and both me and Naomi agreed that we understood very, very little of what was going on. Fish is all, like, a kid as well, but has chicken legs sometimes, and chicken leg-arms too. And then there was this massive chick, and she was all swimming around, it was crazy.

You should watch some of his others as well, Film Four did a thing a while ago where they showed a massive selection of his films, a new one every day, for like 2 weeks. It wasn't just him, but Studio Ghibli in general, but most of them were his. I really liked Porco Rosso, and The Cat Returns is supposed to be awesome though I've never seen it. My Neighbor Totoro is great if you accept that it's truly a film for kids, but trippy nonetheless, and Catbus is just epic win.

I've never seen Grave of the Fireflies, but I agree with your placing for the first two though, Mononoke is great but Spirited Away is just an inspirational piece of cinema, just thinking about that film makes me happy.

Why no love for Howl's Moving Castle though? I know the choice of base story is a big deviation from the normal, but I felt that he really made it his own both visually and dramatically, his take on it with that steampunk thing going on really did it for me, I might even prefer it to Mononke, but I'm not sure.

He's Fourteen, he wants nothing to do with the site, why would legal action be taken?

DQ knew of the thread and told me to keep it up. I asked him if he wanted it taken down and he said no, he just wanted his myspace link off, which I did.
