Don't worry, I use MxTube mate. Have done since I got my iPhone.
Funnily enough I started up Cydia the other day and there was an update for MxTube, so hopefully they're finally adding that Youtube.com search feature or something - I haven't checked yet.

I've read a news article stating that they've run into two problems, but one of those shouldn't affect you as you're on your iTouch.
Basically there's a bug where the native Youtube app doesn't work properly, and the other one is just to do with activation of the iPhone and all that.

Ah yeah, I forgot the iTouch 2G works somewhat differently.
but yeah, the official word is that they're hoping to release it on Friday, so that'll be cool.
That's exactly what I mean, I usually give it at least something like 10 hours, in which time there would be plenty of posts about it on Engadget and TUAW and other sites like that, which would inevitably tell of any major bugs.
