Yeah, scratches just seem to be the way of it, especially the metal case ones. Ah well, still can't be assed to use a case when I get one. Pity about the story though, you're right it would have added some charm lol.

Yeah, I reckon if I'm patient I can possibly snag one for around £160. Condition is the only real concern at that price, most of them are pretty scratched and dented but some are strangely good condition for the price. I'm not too fussed about scuffs etc., if I'm buying 2nd hand then then it's gonna be the way, but a lot of them have the back so scratched that it's half silver and half black with scuffs.

I'm probably looking at getting a 2nd hand pre-3G one anyway, they're pretty damn cheap on eBay atm. I really want to wait until the storage gets enough for me to invest in one as my main device, right now I'm on a 30GB iPod Classic and I'm right at the upper limit. So if I'm going to shell out for a more top of the range thing like a 3G, it's gonna be once they get to the 64GB stage and beyond. I want an iPhone nao though lol, so I'm just gonna get one of the older models to tide me over until then.

I suppose, I'm going to jailbreak as well so it'll probably be the same for me. 3G internet speeds would be fun, but tbh until I can afford a contract with 3G there's little point. They are smecksy too, want one.

Tbh the main factor for me is price. I don't have the money for a 3G model, let alone a 3G S, and even then I don't have enough for a 3G contract in the first place, so getting one would be pointless anyway. I have to admit that I would go for the newest one if I could, just for the functionality of it, but I do agree that the metal case was so much better, plastic loses some of the finesse of the whole thing.

I would have freaked quite a lot tbh, scary stuff. I should be getting one some time soon hopefully, although probably not the newest model, I'll baby it :P.

Yeah, the thing about having to remove other stuff to get to the hard drive was the only downside, although I suppose it kinda has to be stacked to make it so small. I agree about the iPhone though, I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to open one of those up if I had one, too precious.

Ouch, poor Mac Mini. But I know what you mean about opening Mac Mini's, I looked in to it when I was deciding which model to get, was considering buying the cheaper one and speccing it up myself, but in the end I just went for the top one at the time. But opening them looked really easy.

I guess I was kinda put off my normal 'open it!' mentality by my impression from iPod's, not self-maintenance friendly, but that doesn't seem to be the case so much with their computers.

Yeah, I have a Baby Mac (which is actually an Acer Aspire One netbook running OSx86), but the main machine that stays in my room is my Mac Mini and 21" screen.

Ah so you're familiar with hacking stuff apart :P. I'm always drawn to it, not least because of the price (I got installed a wifi card that worked with OSx86 and dumped some extra ram in the Acer for a grand total of 18 quid, would have cost like 50 to pay some random to do it) but also because it's just fun messing with stuff and fixing it. But when that thing is a) mine b) new and c) something I really like, then there's always the pang of pain when a joint sticks or something.

Ooooouch dude, I had to take this baby mac apart to replace the wifi card and put more ram in, it was painful enough even then, and I knew nothing was broken.

Inorite? That would be the holy grail of takeaways. Problem is that, even if it does exist, it probably won't be great quality of either, still, we can dream :P.

And cheers dude, I like to keep people on their toes ;).

Lol, they weren't from the same place. But somehow we managed to pull it off so that they arrived at the same time, skill :P. Seriously dude, try it sometime, it's amazing.

Awesome, thank you. It's certainly my new pride, and I really ought to keep with Doubles maps for a bit. My only other Doubles map is Axis, which I never really gave fame, but everyone loved Axis's gameplay too.

It's got a feature to show and hide hidden files in finder, which I find very useful when I'm poking around in library.
