Yeah, I was real sad to see those shows go. My wife and I got in on Rome late, so we crammed the entire first season in on the weekend before the second started.

HBO still has the rights to George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series (if you haven't read them and dig fantasy at all, go get 'em), and after seeing Rome, I'm still excited that they could make it great.

There's just too much of Preacher that just wouldn't make it in a film, and not just backstory stuff. The Grail? Never in a million years would a major film studio allow the retarded descendant of Jesus Christ run around screaming "humperdidoo". Then there's the ending. Yeah, I can almost see the protest signs now...

I was so happy when HBO picked it up. Now I just hope they don't **** up what little they'll do. I just can't see this succeeding as a standalone film. With Carnivale and Rome, HBO really showed me that they could be able to faithfully adapt it over time. meh.

Basically, I chose very similar sections to those you mentioned, with RPG/character development->quests and world->combat (w/ VATS)->end. With things like the stylistic impressions linked in where they worked and suchlike. The ***** was how to interlink each section, which point under each bracket to make last and link on etc, and also where to make points that spanned multiple factors, like how combat is so intense because of the open ended world.

Idk, I'm gonna read it again and try to rework it, but I wana leave it as long as possible so I don't just slip back into the same trend as when I wrote it and change nothing/very little.

Please please please get something done. I want this done soon.

I can see that, the planning structure didn't go as well as hoped. I ran into multiple situations where I had to chose an order for points out of several ways round of making them and linking them together. I partly think that came from having to think harder about how to order and work points and progressions succinctly with such a game, where all aspects negative and positive interweave in a way that's less definite than just 'this is good' 'this isn't good'. It's something I need to work on, but I'm also looking forward to doing more core shooters which can be reviewed in a more concise way, really refined.
